Asking "guilty or not guilty" is not the same as asking if the state has proven without a reasonable doubt that BC planned and carried out the murder of NC. 5/2/2011 7:15:43 PM |

kiljadn All American 44690 Posts user info edit post |
if the prosecution couldn't prove it, then that means he is not guilty. there's no other interpretation of that.
and honestly if you believe that he did it after the overwhelming evidence presented to the contrary, then I really have to question your sanity 5/2/2011 7:45:30 PM |

The only overwhelming factors in this case are the strange and unexplained actions by the defendant.

such as....
not freaking out when his slut whore wife was late coming home to take care of the kids after an established pattern of that behavior?
going out to look for her at the usual places she'd be fucking off at instead of taking care of the kids with his kids in tow?
not wanting to pay his wife a full fucking salary for fucking 9 other men and then running off to canada with their kids, never for him to see again?
working 16 hour days and being driven into the poorhouse by her unbridled spending habits?
trying to get her to adhere to a more than generous $300 a week personal spending budget?
buying her a $7000 diamond necklace?
trying to salvage their marriage after she slept with another man and fathered their second child?
constantly being publicly emasculated by his wife?
Cleaning up his house because his lazy-ass no-job no-greencard fucking-9-other-dudes-ass wife couldn't be bothered to clean it?
Yeah, I guess all of those things are strange and unexplained actions.5/2/2011 8:32:55 PM |

Is it more likely that:
Brad Cooper waited for a drunk Nancy to come home from a party, strangled her in the house while the children were asleep in the other room without waking them up, dumped her body, woke up at 6AM, went to Harris Teeter twice while faking 2 phone calls to himself for the benefit of the cameras and phone histories by using stolen Cisco equipment that he removed and then dumped somewhere that could not be recovered, then proceeded to act concerned and search for her for hours before waiting a few days to clean his house
or
The Cary Police Department didn't bother to look at anyone else and ignored evidence that would have exonerated him. " |

^^ hahaha...that would suck if it were true since the judge threw in the option of second degree at the last minute even after objections from both the prosecution and defense. today should be interesting to see what both sides say in closing arguments. 5/3/2011 8:49:19 AM |

This sounds like he knows he's let this dog and pony show go on when it shouldn't have and he's vainly trying to save face by hoping the jury will bite on 2nd degree. 5/3/2011 9:11:51 AM |
DivaBaby19 Davidbaby19 45208 Posts user info edit post |
Clearly the judge saw there was no chance anyone could convict him of murder, let alone premeditated murder so he was like "hey lets throw in another so I can get a murder conviction on my resume" 5/3/2011 9:13:19 AM |
ncsuapex SpaceForRent 37776 Posts user info edit post |
"After the closing arguments, Judge Paul Gessner will also instruct the jury that second-degree murder, which does not require evidence of premeditation or intent, is also an option.
I think that's what he meant.

What the fuck are you talking about? you have said that twice now. This is a message board and that is a legal concept. That doesn't mean we can't offer our opinions of what MAY or MAY NOT have happened.
Besides, like 99% of the people in this thread do think he is innocent, or that at least he should be found not guilty in this trial.5/3/2011 9:15:43 AM |

So he's tossing a non-premeditated charge over the fence? I guess he thinks all that stuff about him looking the dump site up on google the day before and checking out and setting up equipment to spoof calls is a load of bull. 5/3/2011 9:18:48 AM |
wolfpackgrrr All American 39759 Posts user info edit post |
^ that's a good question because if he supposedly strangled her after the party and she was wearing it, it wouldn't make sense for him to remove necklace. 5/3/2011 9:21:35 AM |
jocristian All American 7527 Posts user info edit post |
The thing is, if its not premeditated, then what little the prosecution has is gone. Second degree murder is absolutely impossible in this case. 5/3/2011 9:21:43 AM |
optmusprimer All American 30318 Posts user info edit post |
^^Exactly. But being that he dropped $7000 on that necklace if she was wearing it at the party (originally planned as her "going away" party) and she was found without it...

^5 probably a pearl necklace from one of the dudes she was banging.
video showed her not wearing it at the teeter day of, but i have not seen anyone testify that she had it on at the party, but i missed a lot of the early on testimony.
[Edited on May 3, 2011 at 9:24 AM. Reason : 5]
^ but once the cops find the body, i think, if you are not guilty or say a drunk driving case then the family (he or the parents) would receive both the earrings and necklace back after sometime.
i would think the jewelry would be given back to him or her parents. i don't see why the police would need to keep it as evidence forever.
