^yeah fuck that.

Always shitty when someone from a 3hr time-zone split is emailing me way after hours forgetting that I'm not at work like them

Just call them at 8 am when you get in and when they call you back at 11 start bitching about taking so long to get back to you. When they say there is a three hour time difference tell them to remember that at about 2 pm this afternoon!

I supplied 3 different contact phone numbers for this premier support call. When I left the office, at 9 PM after getting tired of waiting for engineer #2 to take over the call, I sent an email saying "please contact me at <cell phone> or <personal cell phone>".

I get an email an hour after I got home saying "I called you at <desk phone> and you did not answer. Please let me know if you are available to work on this call." I replied immediately with the correct numbers. Now I've waited another 30 minutes.

gossipy bitches are gossiping for 45 minutes, then start complaining about how much work they have to do after they spent nearly an hour complaining about another coworkers work ethic . And then they always try to reel me into the shit talking session.

All three of my supervisors are going to be gone all next week. So they have handed me a bunch of work, but I don't really have the authority to do a good portion of it. They know this, but somehow expect me to work through it and have all their crap done when they return

APPLES.
DAMMIT.
Stop eating apples in the shared workspace. The sound is disgusting.

When I bring an apple, I eat it in the proper place--outside.

The worst offender is the same guy who slurps his tea and makes nasal snorting noises constantly. Drives me up the fucking wall.

Apparently when you're trying to set up a meeting with someone and they tell you which day works for them, you ask them how X time works and ask where they'd like to do the meeting, but no response is necessary. The meeting is automatically set and the location instinctively known.

Further, "that guy" that is <50 feet away and uses speakerphone for everything (even to buzz the guy beside me and then buzz me the same shit like I didn't hear that shit twice already with the reverberation) pushed our meeting last Friday back from 11AM to eventually 5:30PM. It took 10 minutes and covered nothing of importance. Starting to hate that guy.

You're fine. Eating them whole is the problem, when you take that big bite and it makes that crunchslurp sound. Repeatedly until the skin is gone. Slices are much quieter and better for the sanity of everyone else.

Is it just me or does it seem like the older generation spend a lot more time on personal phone calls?

I dont have nearly as many non-work phone calls coming to my office phone. If I need to make a call, I'll step outside with my cell for privacy.

Yeah all us younger folks just shoot text messages out for anything that isnt important enough to warrant a phone call. You can setup all your appointments online as well, etc. etc.

Used to work with a guy who would eat yogurt everyday at lunch in the cubical next to mine. He would scrape the yogurt cup for 5 minutes every day to make sure he got every little bit of yogurt out of the cup

scrape.scrape.scrape.scrape.SCRAPE

finally I got my own office just in time to save my sanity.

He also smacked his chewing gum in meetings and jingled massive amounts coins in his pockets (both hands) at all times when standing upright.

The baby I watch won't nap long by himself. Only wants to nap while being rocked. This glider is so uncomfortable with no ottoman. Sometimes I have to sit here for over an hour and rock.

^^^,^^^^

There is a new guy at work, a recent grad. Dude texts all the time. And he keeps his phone right on his desk so everyone around him gets to hear that thing rattling every couple minutes.

If my phone is on my desk, I keep it on something that absorbs the vibration. At least he doesn't have the sound on though or worse, the key click sound. An old guy that I used to sit near did that shit but at least he only texted 3-4 times a day.

"Coworkers" who think that you'll break the rules for them just because they are inside the company with you.

"Coworkers" who think they can get away with being more casual with you just because they work with you.

The sound of apples also pisses me off. I used to have this problem it work. I had to leave the room to not be sent into a rage. The worst was when someone pulls out an apple while in a conversation.

so we have to write these reports after we finish experiments and summarize the results. We are supposed to do a statistical analysis so that we can report significant findings. I asked "Do we have statistical software?"
answer "no"

me "ok can we please get something basic so we can run our own stats? like JMP?"

answer "no"

so I have had to use the 30 day trial to do statistical analysis, which is fine because I found out that if you never close the program it never expires and you can use it beyond the trial length.

then the power went out

so I had to download it again with another email of mine, plus I lost any saved work that was associated with the previous trial.

awesome, hey boss can we please just fork out the fucking money to buy the software??? seriously because BS excel ANOVAs ain't cutting it.

I make an extra effort to be courteous of those around me at work; however, I do eat an apple at my desk though just about every day (and so do other people around me). Never really thought of that as an issue but I'm not going to worry about it.

and the thing is we buy so much wasted shit all the time anyway, and you are telling me we can't take on this annual expense for reliable data analysis which is crucial to our product (the reports) that we give to our clients? we are a freaking corporation and we can't afford software????

hearing people eat an apple kinda grosses me out too, but i can ignore it

i also had a coworker who would spend an hour getting every last drop of yogurt out of her cup. every few minutes she'd be scraping with her spoon again. that was pretty annoying.

Yeah, my boss would waste several grand in supplies by doing stuff wrong, but oh no we don't have money for software. Glad that job is over with.

I've learned to not EVER leave my earphones behind. Between the secretary jamming/singing along with "Dream Believer" and her wearing flip flops and moving around constantly, I don't know which is worse.

holy fuck people won't stop fucking humming. who in their right mind thinks it's OK to hum, at a normal volume, with people within 2 feet of you on all sides? seriously, cut that shit out. they don't even have headphones on, so it's not like they can't hear that they're actually making audible noise!

I have a bad habit of tapping on my desk while I'm really focused, but I try not to do it. These dudes just don't care. You ask them not to hum and they look at you like you just asked them strip naked and dance Gangnam style or something

^ that's more than half my floor. I think we need to install full body scanners that detect any body odor over a certain threshold and won't let you in the building if it's too far over the threshold
