Seems to me that Smart's run was more of an unsustainable statistical anomaly (~45% 3-pt shooting) than a real reflection of coaching ability. But he does seem to have a lot of potential, moreso than a lot of other midmajor coaches I've seen. He should be able to recruit well and get his players excited to play (something we've been lacking).

A month ago all I heard on 99.9 was how awesome a job NC State was, one of the top basketball coaching jobs in the nation. At the time I didn't see how that could even be remotely true and I still don't see it.
