OH I'm an expert on those...I have one right now...I get one ~once a year

But for me it basically starts as my foot in general will start to hurt. Then as I use it more and more then pain moves to just one specific point...usually on the side of my foot since I always get it in my 5th. The pain in on top of the bone. It doesn't hurt when I'm just resting it, but the most pain would happen when I either applied pressure or released pressure on it. All the doctor will do for you is either just tell you to take it easy or give you a boot to wear. But if you're in a lot of pain and you have to be active get a boot for sure.
