why is it that when i use the 2nd head on my video card the custom toobar i have that is just an auto-hide shortcut tool bar on the top (directionally) of the desktop (kinda programmed to mimic the apple quicklaunch) will never un-autohide

it's irritating to be half dependant on ease of operation and then have it ripped away ~60% of the time

So, you're saying that you have a dual output video card and when you use both heads you experience this behavior, or is it just when you use the 2nd head without using the 1st head?

only when using both heads.

I mean, I dont have ultramon or anything like that

however, I'd expect it to react the same as a the start task bar, as in, only across the primary.

but instead it just completely disappears...

If i disable the 2nd monitor (a different size and profile), then it comes right back.

I use ultramon and I love it. I don't know what would cause your problem, but if one monitor is different sometimes the different resolutions will cause some problems.
