i love lifting with others...or doing cardio with others, really helps time fly or great for motivation, although if you're in to HIT, other people usually aren't helpful

yea, i've been doing mostly HIT since I do train alone, no time to rest, 20 deep breaths and you move on to the next set...in and out in 50 minutes

I'm gonna freaking PT again today. I love yelling at the slow assed fat bodies who can't fucking run and still think that they're gonna be able to go to training this summer if they don't improve.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (evil laugh)

It's how we motivate them to do better. We're not mean to them all the time, just during PT

I'd lift with someone else, but I don't really know any of the lifters at my gym. I only do 3-4 strength exercises after cardio anyway. I need to cut fat more than I need to bulk up and I can't get to the gym often enough to split my cardio and lifting days.

When I do cardio I usually go at a pace that wouldn't allow me to talk. I just turn on the iPod and keep my HR from 155-175 for at least 30 minutes.

The old woman who teaches at one of the gyms I work/workout at was talking it up to me. I ended up just laughing in her face, after trying my best to be polite. She was dead serious about me doing it. She assumes that if I do yoga, i'd do any other class.

Good diet & working out go hand in hand for me. When I'm working out a lot I eat better because I'm thinking of food as fuel.

Cutting is partially a diet thing, but I'd rather eat 2300 calories per day and burn an extra 3500 a week by working out than to eat 1800 calories a day and not do shit. And if I'm on the 1800 calorie plan I generally don't feel too hot when I work out. It's a tough balance for me.

I really don't do well if I lift first. I just run out of gas way too early when I get to the cardio. I can do a 35-60 minute session on the elliptical and/or bike, stretch/chill out for 10-15 minutes, and I still have the juice to do three or four strength exercises at 3-5 sets per exercise. The lifting is just something I do if I still have energy to burn after doing cardio. Kind of a supplement to an already good workout; plus I know it has a long lasting effect on my metabolism. I'm not expecting any serious strength gains though.

If a guy is in Zumba class, he's either gay or Hispanic. It's a latin fusion dance/workout class. It's all ass-shaking and stuff.

My Ironman buddies (male) are very gung-ho about yoga and Pilates ... which are somewhat gay. There's a line somewhere. I think water aerobics is just over the line. And Zumba is more in the realm of ballroom dance ... only do it if you're gay or desperate to meet chicks.

I did say it's a good way to meet hot chicks! And Pilates is on the safe side of the line. There are more men than women in my hot yoga (Bikram) classes. But that's hardcore. 90 minutes of yoga in a hot sauna. Not for wusses.

It's great for runners, since we tend to get really tight. Thanks to hot yoga, I can put my legs behind my head, which is rare for runners.

Bikram is awesome. It's 90 minutes of hell, but afterward you feel soooo refreshed. You'll have longer, leaner muscles and be super bendy ... which helps you out for other sports, etc.

And one glass of wine after class will get you trashed.

Pilates is a no go for me.

However, yoga should be a class for everyone. It helps w/ my anxiety for one. But, it also has helped tremendously w/ my mobility and flexibility. The instructor who teaches, also teaches for the soccer and wrestling teams at 2 local colleges. It helps make up for my sometimes iffy dedication to stretching.

Yoga is not a gay class.

I haven't. I would require going to a studio, for me to be able to.

It might be a date for girl that I'm sort-of seeing. This weekend she has me talked into trying acupuncture w/ her.... (I FUCKING HATE NEEDLES (but so does she(hahaha)))

i did yogalates in college (combo of the two) and really liked it.

^^^^ She sounds like a glutton for punishment. She'd LOVE Bikram. It's a little pricey, but it's worth it. Great winter workout ... you stay warm forever after the class!

^ I may pass on that.

After Bikram AND a glass of wine, you get SUPER bendy. Example:
