My wife and I have been talking about getting her fitted with an IUD. she's had one kid so she is a perfect candidate. We had a scare last month when her Nuva ring fell out with out us knowing. She didn't find out until her period came a week early. We still haven't found it. I told her that her vagina ate it but she didn't think that was funny.

Anyway, she is looking for a Dr to perform the procedure so hopefully all will go well.

I'm on Implanon...

I didn't really know IUD's were that popular in people who haven't had kids until this thread

I'd heard a lot of nulliparous women say they'd had trouble finding a local doctor to give them one, so I had never brought it up to mine until my last appointment. When I did I was surprised she said she had no problem with giving me one. Now we just gotta hope I have a fat uterus.

I think I am going to get this if she can make me a clasp on it.

It was on etsy. so awesome!

I will also check with Mindstorm to see his opinion on it.

TOO WEIRD. I googled some stuff for haircuts that length like, last spring, and that's the exact picture I took in to get my friend to do my hair (she's also done Joie's in shows or something)

EXCELLENT CHOICE

I think they wax the bikini line and take some off the top if you want but leave the rest. I accidentally booked that once. It's kind of useless.

I will never again be waxed Maybe I'm just too sensitive or a big ole baby but I tried it out before my wedding and it was waaaay too painful to do it again.

I don't plan on it either. For how much it costs vs. how long the results last I don't think it's worth it.

I thought it would be a landing strip as well, but apparently the technical term for that is the "french wax" *shrug*

Yeah I've never waxed b4...but I've got two gift cards to spas to burn b4 they expire, so I figured w/ Key West at the end of February why the hell not?

I get waxed about once every month and a half...after the first time it's not that bad at all. Sometimes it hurts but if you take some ibuprofen it helps. Also don't go when it's near your time of the month..your more sensitive at that point

brazilian

my favorite place to go was jolie in cameron village. I forgot her name (it's been a while), but she was diligent - that lady went George W Bush on my vagasaurus - no hair left behind

wouldn't a partial brazilian be the same as a french?

oh , and I cut my hair... I gave him the picture but then was just like "do whatever you want"

it's now about 3 inches shorter.

^^I found a pic of myself with short hair and I really miss it

but the bf likes it long and it's so much easier to deal with at work when I can just put it in a ponytail

maybe I'll make a thread and get tdub to decide my fate

^$50 - I would go soon and get it done just to see how you like it.

so if you get all red/irritated/nasty looking and hate it then you still have time to find an alternative before you leave

*warning* TMI ahead

as an alternative to waxing, one time I decided to use tweezers (I sterilized them first) and pluck out every hair on my bikini line. it worked really well and stayed smooth for a long time, but it took a while

In Raleigh, the NuvaRing is available at Planned Parenthood for $35/ring. That's the same price for everybody, regardless of need or whether or not you have insurance.

pur esthetics in cary has great brazillian prices

also for post wax irritation, put hydrocortisone cream on immediately after you are done waxing, and as needed (per package instructions) until the irritation is gone.

shaving is definitely irritating - i get the worst razor burn, always have, even on my legs. i may as well give waxing a shot.

dang girl! i think i would get really frustrated at how long it was taking and give up.

it didn't really take that long - it was just my bikini line

and it lasted way longer than shaving/waxing/nair/etc so it was worth it

it was about the same for waxing - like 1/4''

it was just enough for the tweezers to grab on to

I want to do this with my hair but maybe a little longer, think it will look okay with a rounder face... cause I'm fat now... or should I wait to lose the weight... haha

Your face shape is your face shape, no matter how fat you are. Unless you've seriously put on about 200 lbs.

I think it's a pretty cute style that can work on a variety of face shapes, though.

WHAT??? I've never had them do this.

Regarding price, I have a great place here that's $38 + tip. I tip the girl at least 25% each time because it's VERY important to me that they don't hurt me. I have a lot of respect for the waxers. They rock.

My waxing studio is awesome because they don't use strips ... they use hard wax ... and I will NEVER use strips again. The hard wax is amazing. It doesn't really hurt. Maybe a couple of seconds of pain, but definitely nothing as painful as using the soft wax + strips. If you're looking for a place in the Raleigh area, I know Pur Esthetics in Cary offers the hard wax and appears to have received excellent online reviews.

To avoid bumps, use Tend Skin and exfoliate regularly.

^ And Tend Skin does rock! It's around 20 bucks at my waxing studio, but I'm still on my first bottle that I bought 2 years ago. You can, however, save if you purchase via amazon.com.

The joy of hard wax is that it only adheres to the hair. Soft wax will adhere to both the hair AND the skin, which is why it is much more painful, IMO.

Any exfoliating body scrub should work. I like Neutrogena and The Body Shop products. I love the smell of The Body Shop's Satsuma line:
