For the last couple of months, anytime there has been a hint that it might get cold/nasty weather, the company has reminded us that we just follow the Wake County schools. So if they have a delay or cancel school, then we will have a delay or close for the day.

Well earlier today Wake County schools issued a 2 hour delay for tomorrow But I just got an email saying the roads will be fine and they're just doing it for the cold temp so they expect us to be there at normal time

Girl at work is the worst editor. She used a paragraph symbol instead of a simple break. And used the word parenthesis instead of quotations. WTF? Making her edits is double the work due to translating her weird editing marks.

This guy in the cube next to me is listening to opera. Fucking opera!

Luckily the other guy in my area is out today or I'd be hearing the faint voice of Rush Limbaugh in 30 minutes.

I need a new job.

I really don't understand how anybody could listen to either of them for any extended period of time. And while they're faux ultra-conservatism is annoying, that's not even the reason I say that. It's because they're loud, brash, annoying and extremely arrogant. I can't stand people like that, regardless of whether they're conservative or liberal. Quite simply, they're annoying assholes.

Working for a Chinese company with offices in NC, China & Japan, I too have the pleasure of odd-hour calls.

Monday: 9-10pm
Wednesday: 9-10pm (always goes until at least 10:30)
Thursday: 7:30-9am AND 8:30-10pm

I'm lucky enough to have a manager who understands that some days I'll only be in the office 7-8 hours due to this extra time at night, plus it helps motivate me to get all my work done during regular hours so I'm prepared for the calls. Still, it blows having to make sure I'm available at these times.

Any time we have a call open with Microsoft Premier Support (unfortunately not uncommon) we have the pleasure of asynchronous working hours. They all seem to be in other time zones (primarily central and mountain) and all work until 6 PM. Can get annoying to someone who generally leaves at 5:30 Eastern, especially the ones who are 2 hours behind us.

Managers who are lazy and just sit and talk to certain associates ALL DAY LONG. Especially when you need something urgent and you call them **no answer** or page them on the walkie **no response** and you walk to their office to find them watching videos, on FB, or texting on their phone.

Coworker didn't bother to read a three sentence email that I sent her. Then calls me into her office to ask me all these questions about the document attached to the email.

Thanks for wasting my time... the answers were in the three sentences that you couldn't be bothered to read.

I'm administering an EOC today. The teacher of the class had her student teacher label the desks with student names so that I could easily alphabetize the test sheets. If my desks are in vertical rows, why would you distribute the names horizontally?

^^ I have reached the point where I have no problems telling someone to read the email, or refer to a previous part of an email chain for answers that've already been documented. Does that make me a dick? I don't know...but people don't ask me as many questions anymore

My managers assuming that I instinctively know how to do managerial parts of my job that they were supposed to brief/train me on.

I feel like a dick for this, but there's a guy at work who has an extremely wispy voice that sounds like he always has phlegm stuck in his throat and it drives me absolutely insane every time he comes over to the desk beside mine to talk to my co-worker. His voice sounds almost exactly like a fly or mosquito flying right past your ear. He's been working with my co-worker on some stuff the past couple weeks, and I can't take it anymore, so I can't get any work done because I have to get up and walk away every time he comes over.

Headphones, homey. It's the only way I can deal with my co-worker who has a bad and constant case of snort, snort, sniffle, snorfle, snork, sniffle, snort... all day long. He gets going, headphones go on. Otherwise it drives me up the wall.

I wonder how my boss will react if I ask for soundproof bathrooms, because this one girl at work has IBS, and I feel her pain (not actually but it sounds terrible), but every freaking morning is just explosive diarrhea

Why can't people make a decision for themselves? You're an adult that's approaching 40, you should be able to pick between A, B or C without having to get opinions from everyone. If a consensus was needed, we would have all gotten together to decide, I asked you to do it because its your project and I didn't want to waste a bunch of time trying to pick webpage background colors, or where we should go to lunch.

^^Ahaha, thats eerily close to how our concalls seem to proceed as well.

On a different note, I was doing roving training sessions to customers and our sales guy decided to sell them on training for a product that I had no fucking clue about and without telling me until the day we were supposed to set up at site. Pulled some shit together on my laptop on the way over but was nervous as hell. Went to connect their video cord to my laptop and there must have been a short in one of them because all I saw was a bright flash and heard a loud pop and my laptop released the magic smoke. Luckily there were other hands-on training demos from my coworkers because after that my 2-hr presentation/ training turned into a 15 minute regurgitation of the little product knowledge I knew.

Can you remove these 9 items from [this] database table so it won't show in Filemaker?

2 months later: Can you add {that} entry back into the table? IT WASN'T THERE TO BEGIN WITH! You deleted it from Filemaker yourself!

TLDR: Filemaker isn't used correctly in our office.
