the blonde guy is a strongarm for some pool shark
he also grifts from rich people pretty regularly apparenlty
he employs a scam that involves an oil rig that the gov't is subsidizing
so he convinces the women he bwns to get their hubbies to put up the other half
which is a scam that his parents apparently fell for
so the only really important scene you missed was when we learned the money he was putting up was his pool shark boss's, so leaving it at the rich families house, anger or not, leaves him proper fucked

sayed and the doc tortured the hell out of him, bamboo shoots under the fingernails, and they did this because the spoiled chick was missing her asthma medicine, which they assumed the blonde guy stole
but he revealed he didn't have it

I still hold that Sawyer will end up being a good guy. You can see glimpses of this if you pay attention. I am glad they didnt kill him off.
