^ Charles Barkley said it best last night.

Dirk plays offense like he is 7' ft tall.

but plays defense like he is 6'2''

so true.

No, its just that I'm right and you guys are wrong.

This isn't a predictions thread where you can get lucky and be right....

Steve Nash isnt the most valuable player in the NBA. You know it... there's no shame in just admitting that.

Terry Pendleton won the NL MVP. We all know he wasn't better than Barry Bonds, but the media doesn't always care who the best is..

The national media is not be trusted when it comes to voting... why? well because they don't really watch sports. Most of them are in bed before the games are even played. They have to wake up early and beat deadlines. Hell, look at how unfamiliar the national media was with the whole NC State coaching situation. Wrong facts & comments all over the place...

Nash is clearly behind LBJ, Kobe, and Dwyane Wade. Also, Tim Duncan made it clear in the playoffs that he's much better than Nash. But TD doesnt give it his all in the regular season anymore b/c he has to save it for the playoffs. So I'm fine with Nash being ahead of Duncan in the MVP voting. I mean you'd obviously never take Nash over Duncan if you were picking a team, but as far as the award goes then Nash is more deserving...

You want to argue about where Brand, Dirk, Carmelo Nash, Billups, etc should be ordered? Go right ahead, just dont include them in the same group as Kobe, LBJ, and Wade because that makes you look stupid...

Alright one last pwnt and then i quit for real.

Take Lebron off the Cavs. Worst team in the league.

Take Kobe off the Lakers. 2nd worst team in the league.

Take Nash off the Mavericks. They get significantly better.

Don't argue with me you can't win.

You'll end up looking like the Brett Favre homos last fall.

"MVP = Most Valuable Player.

This does not mean you are the BEST player, but simply that you are most important in your teams success.

on a level playing field, this would mean Lebron, but if you look at the fact the Suns played the entire season WITHOUT arguable thier best player in Amare Stoudamire, and clinch a #2 seed in this years playoffs (despite the seedings not meaning as much this year), it really is amazing!

how can you make this statement after watching him drop 30 points and 15 assists last night?

He cant be guarded one on one, definitely makes his teammates better, and runs the point on a high powered and highly effective offense.

His MVP award this year makes much more sense than his last year, in my opinion.

Lebron = MOP (Most Outstanding Player)
Nash = MVP (Most Valuable Player)

They weren't better than Nash's new team last night.

Im sure getting Dampier, Van Horn, Howard, and Terry didn't help them either.

They are better now than with Nash yes because the team overall is better.

oh yeah perennial all-stars keith van horn, eric dampier, and jason terry are the difference

They also lost players too... like Michael Finley for instance...

So if the Lakers dumped Kobe and Lamar Odom for Van horn, dampier, and terry we could expect they'd be Western conference favorites next year. I gotcha.

I completely forgot about that. Ha...that was a long time ago. Good 'ol Tubby Pendleton.

I respect most of your arguments...but the Dallas Mavericks got better "pieces" with their new players. They didn't need Michael Finley as the scorer anymore. Not to mention that he's fading and he's the one of the worst clutch players ever (why they always gave him the ball at the end of the game was beyond me). Dampier was a HUGE pickedup for Dallas. Their past centers were HORRIBLE compared to Dampier. Shawn Bradley.....seriously. And Terry is becoming a pretty dynamic scorer. Like Van Exel 2-3 years ago. Howard is freaking money now. Hell, Marquis Daniels was one of their most important players in the playoffs last year and he's barely getting any PT right now. The Mavs have been making great moves and their players are playing great.

You are COMPLETELY wrong by making the statement that Nash leaves the Mavs and now they are better. The Suns and the Spurs have just as many former Mavs players on their teams as the Mavs do. So you should strike that from your argument completely.

Also....if you take Nash off the Suns and put a decent point guard in his place....the Suns probably don't make the playoffs. No one can run that offense and that team like he does.

Man, I love this series. The Heat have been a hell of a lot more fun to watch since Riley took over, and the Pistons seem to have some motivation back tonight.

Holy shit, Shaq's down on the floor after coming down at a bad angle.

...aaaaaand he's back up. Both offenses playing like shit right now.

Spoke too soon. Nice 3 by Wallace puts Detroit back up by 10 with less than three minutes left.

" Eva Longoria Doesn’t Get Why Spurs Have To Stop Playing

SAN ANTONIO--Eva Longoria, girlfriend of Spurs guard Tony Parker and loyal follower of the team, doesn’t get why they have to stop playing now. Last year they kept playing all the way until June 24th.
“So how come we’re stopping? I don’t get it,” Longoria asked Parker following Monday’s Game 7 loss against the Dallas Mavericks. “Last year we played all the way until, like, July or something. Is this a shorter season? If I show up tomorrow night, will they let me in? No? Wow, if they’re going to screw around with the schedule like this they should tell the fans.”
She added: “Maybe I should just start going to Dallas games. That Dirk Nowitzki guy - now there's a basketball player.” "

^that meant that Dirk is tough to guard on offense like he is 7 ft tall, but he fails to block shots and get rebounds like "most" 7 footers would.

basically saying he plays big on offense but not on defense.

do I have to explain everything to you?

Miami does not want to lose tonight to Detroit, for mental/emotional purposes.

That would put all of the pressure on Miami to win in Game 6 and could unlock the demons of the past 2 seasons.

The Pistons couldnt win 3 in a row, could they?

HEAT CLOSE OUT THE SERIES TONIGHT!!!
