how can you run the clock after a delay of game penalty? that makes no sense. if that were the case, you could just get to like the other teams 30 yard line when they have no time-outs and just let the clock run out and back up 5 yards over and over.

we just lost like 20 seconds on the fact they let the play run, didn't add time, then ran the clock. am i missing something?

Technichally you could, but refs have tha bility to stop the clokc if they feel the rule is being abused.
