You guys are acting like we got dominated on the GLASS.
Sean Singletary had 10 rebounds.
We got dominated on loose ball long rebounds.
Thats because we didnt have LEGS.
Yes Cain had 9 rebounds, but he's a strong rebounder.
Maybe instead of contesting UVA's jumpers we should have just let them hit the initial shot and then we wouldnt have to worry about rebounding at all!
We need more bodies thats obvious. It'll help when we get Atsur back in the rotation.
Gavin Grant took 17 shots and only attempted 4 FT's. Thats a problem. Julius Hodge couldnt hit a shot to save his life but the guy knew how to get to the line. He has to work on drawing more contact he's way too athletic not to do so. 12/3/2006 5:50:35 PM |

^^^That's true to some extent, Virginia was starting that huge momentum swing run mid second half and Costner just of the screen hits a jumper three at the top of the arc...........of course then he's all cocky and 'shhhhhhhh' and he blows the next two which were absolutely crucial..........

good game overall we stuck in there and kept it close
we just need to continue working on rebounding and free throws
things will free up for the team alot when atsur gets back in there
im proud of the team we are doing well with the amount of talent we have left from last season
keep yours heads up pack 12/3/2006 5:58:57 PM |

Not too bad with things considered (i.e. being a young team and Atsur being out). I think our rebounding is going to be an issue all year long. But not a bad effort against the #25 team in the country. Its a lot different for a freshman to play on the road than it is at home. One question I do have is why Nieman was wearing his American flag patch upside down?

It all comes down to the shots falling, there is nothing more that Sidney could have done given the situation that our team is in right now. They played a hard 40 mins of basketball and never gave up......Costner just fucked up......... 12/3/2006 6:02:15 PM |

its hard to rebound all those clanked 3's UVA was tossin up. you get position down low and shit just flies halfway back out to midcourt.12/3/2006 6:04:18 PM |

quick NOTE, UVA may technically be the #25 team, but they are NOT the #25 team in the nation or any better than that ... you can quote me on that at the end of the season. 12/3/2006 6:06:19 PM |

Well the only other date that would matter (if it's not the 19th) [last day of exams] would be the start of next symester, and I hope against hope that's not the date. but the good news is Trevor can play for 4 years, and he is a g/f which should help, but if polish 7'3" guy was good enough to put on the court that'd be better 12/3/2006 6:30:19 PM |

I just got off the phone with Nieman. The flag was sewn on upside down and he had thread and stitches but no thimble in his gym bag. He didnt want to chance an injury since we're already so thin depthwise so he said he's waiting until he gets home tonight to fix it. 12/3/2006 7:30:10 PM |

^^^ Actually that's not true, Bartosz played in the final minute of two games earlier this season. After we were guaranteed the win, he was one of the scrubs put in. I believe he played in the Wofford and Delaware State games. The summary of all of his plays in those two games is: he made one basket, fouled a three point shooter, and passed the ball around to run the clock down.
I'm not sure how he got hurt, but he never would have seen the court this year anyways. 12/3/2006 8:36:35 PM |

one good thing about not having trevor yet and atsur being hurt is that some of the guys on the bench have gotten good minutes and showed they can contribute this year. when we get those two maybe our depth won't be that bad this year.
is there a reason why we played an ACC game so early this year? just wondering. 12/3/2006 9:07:45 PM |
