Our Bumbo is on our kitchen table. We had Silas up there giving him a quick trim -- he was growing a rat tail.

And babies are incredibly durable. Not only has ours hit the floor, but I've accidentally taken a chunk of flesh out of him with cuticle scissors.

it's a baby seat for youngsters who can't sit up on their own. i thought it was bad for their development, so didn't use one, but they are popular as hell.

too many people have put them on high places such as counters and tables, had the child fall off b/c of lax parental supervision and sued the company. now there is a warning on every box.

^that is what I was thinking but I hope not.

She sits on her throne all the time on a table. We don't leave her there, we always supervise! It has kept us from having to buy her a high chair.
Where exactly are we supposed to use that thing?

This is the first day of lunar month...vampires must be gaining strength and yes she needs blood, fresh blood (no wonder we have a 9 nights festival to celebrate the start of lunar festival "navratri" )

Our son's physical, occupation, and developmental therapists all LOVE a Bumbo seat. In order for a child to be upright, they have to master head and trunk control. The Bumbo seat supports the trunk so that a child can work on their head control. It is only after they have head control that they can gain trunk control. And a properly supportive infant seat aids in them developing this control without doing orthopedic damage, such as independent sitting (or slumping/falling into a sit) before they are ready when the muscles are not engaged.

And in babies who are slow to develop physically, a Bumbo seat (or other infant seat) can give these children the extra support that they need to be upright. This prevents their physical delay from inhibiting their cognitive and social development, which requires a child to be upright.

Or so they have told me.

The Bumbo seat has worked wonders in our son who has a profound delay. Without it, our 8 month old would spend almost all of his time flat on his back unable to interact with the world around him.

I held my son as much as possible. I didn't feel the need for the bumbo, but I certainly won't criticize others for taking advantage of it. I just felt that it would hurt his little developing body to sit upright all the time.
