Correlation doesn't imply causation, but it does waggle its eyebrows suggestively and gesture furtively while mouthing 'look over there'.

I think I read the tripod books in middle school too, good stuff

and you forgot the mouseover, which is the best part:

The moment their arms spun freely in our air, they were doomed -- for Man has earned his right to hold this planet against all comers, by virtue of occasionally producing someone totally batshit insane.

I love how Google handles dimensional analysis. Stats are ballpark and vary wildly by time of day and whether your mom is in town.

I have a problem with the math in this one.

(Pi*r^2)(Pd)(Xf)(Xd) is basically the amount of sex (in min.) per year for a given area.

Thus, for the probability to be 1, (Pi*r^2)(Pd)(Xf)(Xd) has to equal 525960 (the number of minutes in a year. Solving for r, that yields:

r = sqrt[525960/(Pi*(Pd)(Xf)(Xd))]

all this assumes that that populations are evenly distributed as well as the time of sexual encounters

right?

Upon further thought, the formula as given in the comic stands assuming that Xf and Xd have matching units. However, I'm debating with myself if the 2 should be a 1.

it isn't about knowing when to correctly use it. it's about intentionally using "no pun intended" incorrectly to fuck with people. hence, your fail.
