I was reading an interview with Harmonix (yesterday?) about the plans for DLC + such. It seems like they've really got a good plan laid out. They talked about how (if and) when RB 2 comes out, they will make the DLC transferrable.

Also, while talking about full album downloads they name-dropped Tool. So my life is complete.

15 of which will hopefully be Tool - Aenima in its entirety.

I would also settle for Lateralus.

4^ Yeah I was going to get the Oasis pack until I saw Champagne Supernova wasn't included, kinda baffled me that it wasn't.

^^If they're serious about Tool then I might have to break down and purchase my own Rock Band set. Currently I just have Guitar Hero and play RB at friends' houses.

I was really looking forward to the Oasis song pack and have been seriously disappointed by it. All of the songs are boring as hell on the guitar.

I want more songs with 3 note chords (and maybe some with 4), they don't have to be super hard but it would be less boring on the slower songs...

How are everyone's guitars holding up now? I just got a 360 last week, and this game was a huge part of the reason why.

But if the equipment still blows, I'm going to wait a bit longer to pick up the game.

my 2nd guitar seems to be holding up fine, as is the drum pedal. i'm still thinking about sending the actual drums back though..

In hindsight, I'm kind of glad I wasn't able to jump in and buy this right off the bat.

Hopefully, by the time I can get the game, enough of the equipment lameness will be fixed.

But I'm probably just going to go ahead and reinforce the drum pedal right away. As an actual drummer, I've always been hard on my bass pedal, and from what I've gathered, that's a recipe for disaster with this equipment.

I'd recommend getting a Guitar Hero guitar for this anyway, they are more durable and a lot easier to play with.

Sorry, can't find the link to the story. It came out last weeked (Friday I think) though if that helps. One of the focuses of the story was that they have sold $2.5 million worth of DLC. DLC ALONE... That's nuts.

Yeah, the equipment is pretty much shite as it stands right now. I'm on my 2nd guitar. At least the service is speedy.

There's really no reason to deprive yourself of this awesome game. They'll get the peripherals sorted out soon enough.

Got mine Rock Band in today (from ebay) and the guitar downstrum isn't functioning properly. gonna try the fix posted on here.

Do you have to have a receipt in order to send it back to Harmonix or whoever?

Otherwise, game rocks.

nah, just go to their website, put in a CC#, they'll 2 day ship you a new one, you send the old one back within a month or so and you won't be charged.

i think they're already on their 4th gen of guitars or some shit like that. so if you have a newer one some of the older fixes (such as adjusting the tension screw) won't work for you

i will lose my job if they release Aenima album. i cant imagine how they would transcribe it for the game, but if i could even simulate playing any of the instruments, much less all of them...i think i would stop going to work.

TOOL. wow. im officially aroused.

i live in an apartment and i have to believe my neighbors hate me at this point.. i really need to figure out a way to mod the drums so they are less noisey. might try the mouse pad thing.

Also, when you download songs and such, does it just appear on your song list? I haven't done any of the dlc yet but plan to soon.

Yeah it just appears in the song list, you don't have to add it or anything. Are your walls that thin that the clacking of the drum sticks annoys people? If so, how are you even able to watch TV without pissing someone off?

god i can't get the kick red/blue kick red/blue pattern on reptilia to save my life on drums hard. i can do pretty much all the songs on hard now (and i'll pass reptilia) just can't get that rythm for some strange reason. and now my arms are going to fall off after playing drums all day

the walls are pretty thick, i just always feel that when i'm beating on the drums they have to be hearing it, maybe not they haven't bitched yet. I guess I just think it is louder than it really is.

i got reptilia down on hard, but have hit a wall 50 songs in on hard and about 12 in on expert. i about threw the set out the window this morning trying to get through the first 20% of the boston song.

I can do really well on Boston on hard (mid-high 80's), but as soon as I try doing Tom Sawyer I get screwed... that bass drum line is hard.

^^yes, it is.

I broke down and bout the Oasis pack even though I promised myself I wouldn't...

Only played the guitar parts so far, but they've exceeded my expectations.

as far as the drums go, they're not exceedingly difficult...and one of the songs was really easy (think I missed one note)

but I think a lot of the drum parts are not really exciting....take green grass and high tides...sure it's long, but damn if that drum part isn't simple (on hard difficulty)...played it for the first time on hard the other night and got 98% with a 500+ streak

the guitar parts are great on the oasis songs

Did the fix mentioned earlier for the guitar (using a piece of paper to make the spacer better) and it works now, but isn't as sharp as my Xplorer guitar. Basically the downstrum doesn't spring back as much as I'd like and kinda just feels spongy.

Is that just the stratocaster or is it faulty?

Played a little bit of each of the solo modes with the instruments and got a group together this weekend...it was pretty awesome.

just wanted to be sure I'm not missing something, but you can't do a solo career on bass, can you? just beat hard on solo last night and wanted to play the bass side (it's always been my favorite in the GH's that had it)

for those who haven't played a lot of the solo side, you get a metric fuckton of free gear playing solo (on hard at least)...final set gets you the complete rock hunter outfit

"move along" might be my favorite song to play on drums, especially on expert

still can't beat "run to the hills" on hard.. i've got the rhythm down though, so maybe soon

tried move along once on hard drums and failed but it seems like it would be a great drums song...i haven't played the drums much as I wanted to knock out the solo career on guitar first...about 25 songs in on the hard solo career for drums

sucks about no solo bass career...some people like being second fiddle and getting the passed over groupies
