As do I, but it has probably more to do with waking up hungover still drunk in my fraternity house and thinking it was a bad movie.

You know you're old when you made the same comment about knowing you're old back in April. Short term memory loss is just the start.

You're listening to Bert&Ernie Sing-Along with your kids and you realize that Oscar has every damn right to ask them to keep the noise down if he can hear them down on the street in a freaking garbage can.

And instead of being nice about it, they make fun of him for asking.

Jerkwads. Especially Susan, who seems to lead up the anti-Oscar bullying.

[Edited on June 19, 2012 at 10:03 PM. Reason : Also, making fun of Bert for dressing up in a skirt probably wouldn't fly nowadays]

This is normally me, but the woman has been out of the house visiting her parents for the past few weeks so this past weekend I was up until 4:30am gaming . Part of my excuse though was so I could stay up to watch the meteor shower.

lol I was a junior away on a co-op rotation when he was elected, I was so pissed that I barely got to see any of his antics. Then when he got elected... everyone went back to not caring about student government.

I have to be more conscientious of what I put into my body now if I don't want to feel like a zombie. 5 years ago it didn't matter. 10 years ago I could eat a bunch of shit, stay up all night, and drive to school the next day and be totally fine. That's another thing: sleep. If I don't sleep the consequences are much more severe now.

I gave up doing yard work. I'm too fucking allergic to grass to enjoy it anymore.

However, I'll gladly tag along with friends going to lowes and help them pick out new lawn equipment. For that matter, my friends all call me up when they start new projects, as they know I'll be stupidly happy to help them gut and renovate a house, etc. I'd rather let friends benefit from my unused knowledge and skills, than some poor piece of shit getting a habitat house.

i know i've posted it before (several times in fact ) but it amazes me at the amount of disrespect the kids these days have... we had a moment of silence today for 9/11, and the kids were rolling their eyes and smacking their lips. no respect at all.

It seems like the years go by quicker and quicker and that there's nothing I can do to slow down the process. It's almost 2013 and that fact alone just blows my mind considering how 2010 doesn't feel long ago at all to me.

I cracked a joke recently about George Washington Carver dying penniless and insane, trying to play a phonograph with a peanut...

Then I remembered that the people around me probably didn't know that Eddie Murphy used to be funny.

to be fair, it is nearing 20 years old.

kinda like listening to "classic" rock on 106.1 in the 90s. except for the whole "i think classic rock is a genre, not an indication of time" thing

You can no longer listen to jam bands.

My husband and I just bought the new Dave Matthews Band album. We didn't buy the deluxe album with the 3 live tracks because we both realized that we no longer have the time or patience to listen to a song run on for 10 minutes or so.

to be fair dubstep is pretty terrible (in the way that high school kids would appreciate it, but adults would understand it's just noise.)

yeah i guess i never really thought of it. that shits like 20 years old. i would have definitely called music from the early 70s "oldies" when i was in school.

When I think of oldies I think of stuff from the 50s and 60s. 70s seems more like classic rock. But when I think back to the 90s, bands like the Who and Led Zeppelin (pretty commonly thought of as classic rock) and their members were "old" and not really making music anymore. Dave Grohl of Nirvana is still pretty active in the music community.

yeah, even back when I was in high school and grunge was peaking, we called 50's oldies, and (late)60's/70's classic rock.
