"In his post game new conference against Villanova, head coach Mike Krzyzewski made it clear. His team is searching for a point guard. The Duke head man will finally have a chance to make a face to face pitch to the best in the country tomorrow afternoon in Durham."

From Scout. To say that in a post game conference is pretty ballsy. Usually it is all about the current team, current game, yadda yadda.

"Curry will be eligible in 2010-11

Duke didn't waste any time sulking over its Sweet 16 loss to Villanova Thursday night in Boston. Instead, the Blue Devils picked up the most coveted transfer available when the nation's top scoring freshman, Seth Curry of Liberty, decided to transfer to Duke for next season.

Curry's father, Dell, told ESPN.com Sunday night after a visit to Durham earlier in the day that Seth was offered a scholarship by the Blue Devils and accepted. Curry, who averaged 20.2 points a game for the Flames this past season, will sit out the 2009-10 season and be eligible for 2010-11 as a third-year sophomore. A source close to the Blue Devils confirmed the transfer offer was made and accepted.

Dell Curry, a former star guard with the Charlotte Bobcats, said once Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski made clear the Blue Devils wanted him it wasn't a hard decision for Seth. Dell Curry said Krzyzewski stressed that the Blue Devils will need scoring guards in two seasons after the departure of senior Jon Scheyer and possibly Gerald Henderson, if Henderson doesn't leave for the NBA draft this spring. The Blue Devils have two younger point guards in sophomore Nolan Smith and freshman Elliot Williams, who would be a senior and junior, respectively when Curry would be eligible.

Curry said the opportunity to continue his career at Duke, and get a Duke education were other major factors in the decision. Dell Curry said the family was wowed by the new Duke practice facility, which Dell said is on par with NBA facilities.

Seth Curry's plan once he left Liberty was to transfer to an ACC school in the state. He accomplished that goal within the first week. Dell Curry said that Liberty coach Ritchie McKay "was great through the process and really helped us. He was tremendous. He showed no bitterness."

The 6-3 Curry led the Flames to a 23-12 record this season and an appearance in the inaugural CollegeInsider.com tournament.

Meanwhile, Dell Curry said his elder son, Davidson junior guard Stephen Curry, still hasn't made up his mind on whether to declare for the draft. Stephen Curry is a projected lottery pick. He has until April 30 to declare for the draft. But Dell Curry said Stephen won't let the decision drag too long.

Andy Katz is a senior writer at ESPN.com."

If K lands Wall this is going to be huge for Duke. They'll actually have guards that can compete with Ty Lawson, Scottie Reynolds types.

2009: Ryan Kelly (F), Mason Plumlee (F), possibly John Wall (PG).
2010: Seth Curry (G), Andre Dawkins (SG), Joshua Hairston (PF), Tyler Thornton (PG), and possibly Josh Smith (C - 6'9" 280)

seth actually torched virginia, clemson and radford twice this year. i wouldn't say he's just a big fish in a small pond. plus, he'll get a year of work in before he plays in the acc which will help a ton.

John Wall to Duke also seems much more likely now than it did a few weeks ago.. especially if Calipari leaves for UK

one positive, it appears that Duke will no longer serve as the recipient of the worst ass-raping in a nat'l championship game, as long as MSU blows it by more than 30

"Greg Paulus, who chose to be a point guard instead of a quarterback in college, reportedly has worked out for the Green Bay Packers.

Paulus, who started 95 games at Duke before his role was drastically reduced his senior season, worked out in front of Packers representatives in Durham, N.C., "a couple of days ago," according to the Wisconsin State Journal. ProFootballTalk.com also had the report. It is not clear for what position he was auditioning.

Though Paulus, from Syracuse, N.Y., opted for the Blue Devils as a basketball player, he is not without some serious football credentials. He was offered a football scholarship by Notre Dame as well as the University of Miami, and was a former Gatorade football player of the year at Christian Brothers Academy.

Paulus, 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, was a four-time all-state football player; a starter in the U.S. Army All-American game; and set six state passing records. Christian Brothers was 42-3 during his time there, and he had 11,763 career passing yards and 152 touchdown passes in 45 games.

He is the only one among his male siblings to take the basketball route. Each of his five brothers played Division I-A football; Mike Paulus is currently a quarterback at North Carolina.

Paulus averaged 9.9 points and 4.1 assists as a three-year starter for the Blue Devils. But coach Mike Krzyzewski shuffled his lineup and Paulus, with a history of injuries, was replaced by Nolan Smith at the point. Paulus played just 16.1 minutes a game this season, averaging 4.9 points and 1.3 assists.

He earned widespread praise, however, for his conduct and demeanor after losing the starting job, giving guidance to the younger players and never showing outward disgruntlement.

He also expressed no regret about choosing basketball over football, during an interview in January with USA Today.

"I wanted to play point guard, and I got a chance to do that and to play for Duke and Coach [Krzyzewski]," Paulus told USA Today. "I wouldn't change a thing.""

Ha Ha. You look like as big an idiot as Shavlik Randolph. Except Randolph actually plays professional ball.
