Where'd they put the trophy they got for getting blown out in their only playoff game?

you have to make the playoffs to have a chance to win a playoff game

and given all the tiebreaker scenarios, we might've missed the playoffs had we not gone into Lambeau and won

Yeah, I guess they had a chance right before Delhomme threw his ninth interception.

Now he only needs to throw 745 more INTs to tie Favre's NFL record

There are plenty of records and accolades held by Favre that Delhomme is miles away from.

^^i dont necessarily disagree with that

of course Peppers isnt exactly an ideal teammate

at least Jake cares about playing football

when Jake throws a pick, its cause he makes a bad decision or throw, not cause he takes plays off and doesn't care about football

half the time Peppers has as much interest in the Panthers succeeding as...you do

thats why people should cheer for sports teams...not to wish them success and enjoy the success they do have...but to look forward to rebuilding the entire team

i for one hope we also cut our shitty young running backs and offensive linemen...and lets rebuild our linebacker corps, they suck!

being realistic would be predicting us to go 9-7 this year...you're making it sound like by keeping the same personnel that led us to a 12-4 record and division title last year, we are doomed to fail...that the entire team should be completely revamped

90% of the NFL would love to have had the success we did last year, but not you

based on what? based on the fact that every team is supposed to go 8-8?

I only say 9-7 is realistic because the league is designed for everybody to go 8-8, and we have a better running game than most teams in the league. I think, barring injuries, that should be good enough for at least 1 game better than 8-8

of course obviously i need to see what transpires during the draft this weekend, trying to predict records before that is foolish

They are thinking that they will franchise Peppers again next year, and after they called his bluff this year he will know they are serious, and sign his tender so they can work out a trade to get a first round pick.

I like the Panthers and all, but I'm a 49er fan first, so I hope the Panthers lose a lot of games.

.i was really hoping we would have dealt peppers to the patriots for all their 2nd round picks and a later round pick.......don't have to pay any first round money and you gain a lot of quality depth. not really even sure if thats possible but it was a nice thought.

guess we'll have to wait and see how this pans out

considering that Everette Brown was rated between 10-20 on the board by a lot of folks, giving up next years first for him plus another pick does make a lot of sense.

i can't believe we got him

Quote :
"Brown would soon become a star at Beddingfield High in nearby Wilson, which is also just down the road and in the same conference as Southern Nash High. Just a few years earlier, Southern Nash produced Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers.

“I'd go and watch him play high school basketball and run track and play football,” said Brown. “I had hoped to follow in his footsteps go to (North) Carolina. But I followed my heart and went to a different college.”"

i like the pick. from what i read, they said don't expect much this year, but he could be a special one down the road. good size and pretty good quickness

with charles johnson already on the line, that's two bulldogs.

we need backups for the OL badly....if one of our starters goes down..we have no depth, figured the 2 4th rounders would go for OL.....oh well....
