^Crompton has been EXACTLY what I would hope for him to be. I couldn't be any more pleased with how he's played. It hasn't been great (or even that good), but it just hasn't been horrible.
Also, as a side note, I do think Tim Tebow is a great player. But when he gets fired up and starts yelling, does anyone else notice how NO ONE appears to be listening to him? He gets fired up, but no one else on the team seems to care. Not that I'm worth two shits, but the stuff he says sure wouldn't get me fired up. 9/19/2009 5:08:24 PM |

Quote : | "Tennessee is not a smoking crater, after all. And Florida's offense may not be a meteor.
By Matt Hinton
Florida 23, Tennessee 13. Lane Kiffin did his best to ward off the "moral victory" angle after the game, but come on, Vols: The offense lowered its head, ground out a couple hard-hitting scoring drives on one of the most ferocious defenses in the country and gave the vaunted Gator offense all it could handle. When you're a four-touchdown underdog with three-fourths of the conference gunning against you and your brash young coach, that's a moral victory.
Do you know how hard it is to hold Florida to 23 points? 316 yards? 5.1 yards per play? Based on last year's production -- which returned almost completely intact, sans only Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy -- it's borderline impossible: The Gators never scored less than 24 (and never less than 30 in SEC games) en route to the 2008 championship, and were only held below 300 yards/five yards per play once -- against Tennessee. In two years of Tebow-as-starter, only one defense has held Florida to fewer points than Monte Kiffin's D today (Auburn, which held UF to 17 by playing keep-away in 2007). Tebow was sacked three times and failed to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in 30 straight games. In almost all the important ways, this was as complete a defensive effort as any team has put up against the Tebow/Meyer juggernaut since the golden child stepped on campus.
The Kiffins deserve a lot of credit for an exceptional gameplan with an outmanned team, but more than anything, this brings into very clear focus just how much the Gator offense misses Harvin and Murphy as downfield threats. For all the talent in the Gator backfield -- and Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Emmanuel Moody and Brandon James racked up 171 total yards on more than seven yards per touch -- the one element clearly missing from the attack was a legitimate field-stretcher. Tebow's longest completion of the game was 18 yards; his 115-yard passing total was the second-lowest of his starting career (after, again, the lo-fi win at Tennessee last year). The Gators couldn't the ball deep.
As a result, the offense in the second half was all Tebow, all the time: The Child ran 19 times in all, more than in any game last year except the national championship win over Oklahoma, and took over on the Gators' two second half scoring drives, either passing or keeping the ball himself on 15 of 21 plays. Turns out, keeping the ball in the hands of the nation's resident force of nature is a pretty good strategy, just as it was on a pair of big scoring drives against the Sooners in January. But I don't think it's what Florida wanted to do, and certainly doesn't want to do the rest of the year if it can help it. Today was a textbook example of how to put Florida in a box: Prevent the big play, pressure Tebow and try to force him to take a lot of little bites down the field instead of big ones. Tennessee pulled it off as well as they could have hoped; if a defense with an offense on the other side manages to turn the same trick, the Gators may not make it out unscathed again. " |

Quote : | "Yo, Lane Kiffin, enjoy losing a football game. Enjoy playing Florida within 10 points. Enjoy calling that late timeout. Enjoy running the ball on 3rd and 19 in the Florida red zone. You think you’re so cool. Hey, you lost a ball game. You’re just like the USC linebacker who—after making a tackle at his own 4, just moments before Washington kicked the game-winning field goal—strutted like a moron and celebrated his hard hit. Live it up, Lane: We should all be so smugly self-satisfied after losing an SEC East football game. How was that UCLA debacle, anyway? hahah, thats the weakest smack I have ever seen, doesnt even make sense... Zemek is always a pro-Florida bitch
Quote : | "GAINESVILLE, Fla.— Let me paint the picture for you: at some point Saturday, as time wound down in The Beatdown That Wasn't, Nick Saban sat and watched from the comfort of home and saw this:
Florida, exposed.
USC, exposed.
The Florida offense was Tim Tebow and little else on Saturday Is there any doubt now about the most complete team in college football? It certainly isn't defending national champion Florida, which opened up a big can of boring in the most anticipated game between Florida and Tennessee in years.
Florida fans wanted blood. They got sweat.
And nearly tears.
It wasn't so much the pedestrian 23-13 victory over outclassed rival Tennessee as it was the way it unfolded: It's 2007 all over again in Gainesville. The Tim Tebow Show on offense—and nothing else.
"It wasn't how we envisioned or hoped," Tebow said. "But it's a win and it's good enough for all of us."
Not everyone. With or without a change Sunday atop of the polls—why not Alabama?—the team to beat in 2009 suddenly has become very beatable and very, well, ordinary.
"I would think in (Florida's) locker room there are some frustrated guys," said Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin. "Because they had high expectations about what they were supposed to do."
Even in defeat, the mouth that started and stirred this nonsensical offseason hype for months couldn't have been more right. While Tennessee played without a quarterback—what else can you call Kiffin's conservative play-calling strategy?—and played keep-away the entire game, Florida couldn't stop the 30-point underdog Vols from running the ball or running clock.
While Tennessee sat in two-deep zone on defense and begged Florida to run, the Gators could muster next to nothing from their tailbacks and didn't have enough speed on the outside to stretch the defense in the passing game.
Here, everyone, is the essence of the game: With three minutes to go and trailing by 10, the Vols were running the ball to hurry up and get it over with.
And Florida still was playing as if it never started.
Kiffin, of all people, summed up the enormity of the situation without bluster or bravado, but with simple mathematics. Florida, he said, has been together as a team for four years. Tennessee has been together for three games.
Not much separated the two on this day.
"Obviously," said Florida coach Urban Meyer, "I think we could've played better."
After the game, after his team extended its winning streak to a school-record 13 games, Meyer admitted he had to "lighten the mood" of his players in the locker room. Meanwhile, outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, about 100 loyal Tennessee fans lined the walkway to the team's buses and let out a roar when the coaching staff walked by.
"There's a lot of pressure on these guys and I felt it in there," Meyer said. "I'd rather be on that end than on, boy, great job, we lost by 10."
He may be on that end sooner than he thinks." |

Quote : | "Earlier this week, Tim Brando drew a parallel between Lane Kiffin and Sarah Palin. Brando's point was that Kiffin had energized the Tennessee fan base, just as Palin set Republican hearts aflutter, but that it remained to be seen how he'd translate to the nation at large. When the rubber met the road, would Kiffin prove he could withstand the rigors of the SEC? Or would he turn into football's version of Palin, an overhyped west-coaster who couldn't handle the heat of SEC football?
By halftime, Kiffin's Vols had their answer and Tennessee-Florida had its structural metaphor. Urban Meyer is the favored and proven candidate, but Lane Kiffin is the brash-talking insurgent who didn't need to win, he just needed to prove he could compete. Florida fans came expecting a funeral, a smorgasbord of revenge stuffed into 60 minutes of football. Instead, they stood in the heat and watched a slobber-knocking and plodding affair. Clearly, Florida was the better offense and the better team. Urban Meyer came to a knife fight armed with two handguns and a howitzer cannon, Kiffin arrived with a salad fork and an oyster cracker. He tossed the oyster cracker at a Gator coed with fat arms, and dueled as best he could with his salad fork of a quarterback, Jonathan Crompton.
In the end, we learned 14 important things about both teams.
1. CBS and ESPN need Meyer and Kiffin to hate each other.
And if two mega-corporations need something to happen, and control as much of the sports arena as these two do, they can craft the story lines by taking sentences here and there and turning them into major controversies. CBS played up the angst with alternating shots of Kiffin and Meyer alongside the Green Day soundtrack "Know Your Enemy" as the game began. The montage was designed to ignite Gator bloodlust, and terrify Volunteer fans. If they'd played it on the scoreboard at Ben-Hill Griffin stadium, 15 people in orange would have simultaneously been stabbed to death with shivs embedded inside Little Debbie snackcakes.
2. Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer in suits look like an uncomfortable scene from Entourage: Gainesville.
Can we institute a new sports rule: When you're not wearing your football uniform or coaching on the sideline, there are no slow-motion shots?
It's so uncomfortable.
You could almost hear Meyer whispering, "I know a great Bible study party after this game. Two words: bourbon cake ... and truffles."
In his vest and glasses, Tebow looked like a Depression-era banker. Also, and I know several teams do it, but wearing suits to a college football game is really dumb. What's dumber than wearing the suits? Showing people wearing the suits.
3. Tennessee's offense is awful.
Immediately after the UT game, I put on other games, Washington at USC, and Michigan State at Notre Dame, and watched both teams tossing the football around the field, actually completing passes that travel more than five yards up field. I was positively giddy.
When will those days return?
Tennessee running backs Montario Hardesty and Bryce Brown are warriors out there. So is the entire offensive line. Can you imagine lining up against Florida on play after play when they've stacked the line to stop the run and yet you still have to run the football? Hardesty ran 20 times for 96 yards. Those 20 rushes would have probably been 150 yards against a regularly aligned defense.
4. Florida lacks playmakers at wideout, and this is going to hurt them down the road.
Florida's leading receiver? Try tight end Aaron Hernandez who had four catches for 26 yards. Most of that yardage, 18 of them, came on a second quarter third and long play when Florida correctly guessed that Tennessee was going to blitz and hit him on the tight end screen for a first down.
Why does that matter? Florida is going to face an awful lot of stacked defenses from here on. Excepting that Tebow pass to Hernandez, Florida's next three longest pass plays were for 14, 10, and 10 yards.
What's even more interesting, Florida didn't even attempt to throw the ball down the field. Now Tennessee has a strong secondary and their gameplan was to make the Gators drive the field on them in small chunks of yardage, but that's got to make Gator fans a bit leery that they weren't able to exploit any mismatches down the field and stretch the defense.
If you're a Gator fan, you'd like to think that was because Florida chose to take what Tennessee gave them. I'm not so sure. I think the reality is that Florida is not very explosive on offense. At least nowhere near as explosive as they were last year with Percy Harvin.
I've said for a while that I think there's a great deal of separation between Florida and the other teams in the SEC. After this game, I take that back. I think Florida is going to have several tough games this season, and I'm not sure they'll finish the SEC gauntlet undefeated.
5. Someone needs to tell CBS studio analyst Tony Barnhart that everyone knows he dyes his hair.
One of my rules in life, if I ever think about dying my hair, I'm relying on a guy friend of mine to say, "Dude, everyone knows you dyed your hair. You like ridiculous."
At SEC Media Days everyone was whispering this about Tony "Chestnut Brown" Barnhart. Just because you're on television doesn't mean you need to dye your hair in a misguided attempt to look younger. Please stop. And when you stop, find your three best male friends and kick all of them in the groin for letting you dye your hair to begin with.
6. Lane Kiffin might be the new Les Miles when it comes to game interviews.
You know how when Les Miles hits the interview, you feel like he could say anything? From commenting on United States policy with Kim Jong-Il in North Korea to why he likes Paul Newman's salad dressing?
Put it this way, when I'm watching an LSU game and it's close to halftime and a team is taking the knee, I don't change the station because I want to hear what Miles might say.
Well, Kiffin might be the new Miles.
He told Tracy Wolfson, "See you later," to end the first interview. Which at first I thought was a reference to winning the game and getting interviewed at the end, but then he vanished at halfime and left Wolfson hanging. While Miles is wacky, Kiffin is so intense you halfway expect him to eat the microphone, spit it out, and flex for the camera. In fact, if this happened, I wouldn't even be surprised.
In the end, Wolfson went to Kiffin three times before she went to Urban Meyer.
Why?
Because they figured he was more likely to say something incendiary ... and they're right.
7. Brandon James is human. And he's going to be feeling that Janzen Jackson hit in the end zone for the rest of his life.
I don't know about the rest of Tennessee fans, but when I saw Brandon James get absolutely destroyed on Tebow's final pass of the half, I replayed the hit 18 times. In super slow-motion. In real speed. I paused the television, I got up and walked around in front of my screen and watched it anew, I was like Jim Garrison with the Zapruder tape in "JFK."
If I could download that hit and watch it every morning when I woke up, it would make my life better. Why?
A.) That Jackson hit saves four points. Because minus that hit, it's a touchdown catch. B.) Somewhere Jabar Gaffney slammed down his television remote and said, "That's a touchdown, bro." C.) I consider this somewhat revenge for the three consecutive punt-return touchdowns -- and the near kickoff touchdown to begin the game
It was sweet redemption.

Cont'd...
Quote : | "8. Gary Danielson hates Jonathan Crompton
It's almost uncomfortable to hear Danielson talk about Crompton during CBS's telecasts. There's a thinly veiled disgust, like someone has just placed a rotten fishhead on Danielson's microphone. These guys need to have a sit-down at some point so they can hash out their differences. It's like Crompton bailed town after impregnating Danielson's daughter.
That would also explain Crompton's mustache-beard combo. That's the mustache-beard of a man with children left behind in 14 different trailer parks.
Granted, Crompton's awful, but he's not the worst quarterback in the history of college football. In fact, if you compare his passing stats with Tebow's from this game they were pretty similar. But, man, Danielson kills him every chance he gets.
I hope Crompton has a good game on CBS just to hear what Danielson says.
And by the way, the obsession with whether or not Tim Tebow gets a touchdown pass. Really necessary? I don't think so. That's about the 20th most interesting thing taking place during the game.
9. With the game tied at 3, and three minutes remaining in the first half, I did the math to prove that 20 percent of the game was already over.
I've never done this before during a football game. It's a testament to how nervous I was that the game might get out of hand early. The last time I remember doing this during a sporting event was when I was on an awful little league team and we got a 10-3 lead in the third inning. Games ended in two ways, after six innings or via a two-hour game time limit. I knew our only chance to win was the time running out. I kept asking the coach how much time was left in the game.
He said, "Do you want to win or for the game time to run out?"
"Both," I said.
We lost 15-10. In six innings.
I'm still bitter.
10. When Tim Tebow and Eric Berry collided, every child in Asia was simultaneously circumcised.
Asian newspapers are going to report on this phenomenon tomorrow. But they were all sleeping when it happened so the news will take a little while to filter out.
Thailand's planning a new tourist attraction in the red light district.
The Great Wall of Foreskin.
Too much?
11. Meyer went to the choke-out offense via Tebow.
In a particularly ominous sign for Florida fans, Tim Tebow carried the ball 24 times for 76 yards. In typical Tebow fashion, those yards were not easy. They were punishing, dirty, man yards -- an average of just 3.2 yards a carry.
Why does this matter?
Remember 2007.
By the Georgia game that season, Tebow was hurting from the punishment delivered by SEC defenses. Georgia won in a large part because Meyer wouldn't run the ball with Tebow.
Tebow cannot take 24 hits a game carrying the football in the SEC this season. Not in addition to the hits he takes dropping back to pass. I know Tebow's bigger and stronger than he was as a sophomore, but when he becomes the primary option in the running game, it's an awful sign for the offense.
The rest of the Florida offensive players combined for 20 carries, four less than Tebow.
12. Jonathan Crompton's third-and-six pass was so bad that the officials couldn't even call grounding.
I swear, they were shocked. They hadn't yet "seen the Crompton." After avoiding the rush, Crompton could have attempted to run for the first down, surveyed his receivers, or done something that was an offensive threat. Instead he hummed the ball into the Gator sideline.
It was clearly grounding, but it was such inexplicable grounding the officials didn't make the call.
You could almost hear the officials talking as they huddled.
Official 1: "I've never seen somebody ground it without a defender near them."
Official 2: "There had to have been a Tennessee receiver running a route that took him behind the Florida Gator bench."
Official 1: "You're right," blows whistle, "Fourth down."
13. Meyer to Kiffin at midfield, "You played hard, man."
I don't know this for a fact, but I'm going to hazard a guess, Kiffin and Meyer have spoken privately since the flare-up in the offseason and put the comments behind them. Again, I don't know this for sure, but I'm guessing it's happened.
That's the only way to explain the curious lack of discord between the two of them. I'm including the way Meyer took a knee to end the game. It was a respectful ending to a game that was sold as a blood feud.
I'm not complaining, I just think there's more to this story than we've seen publicly.
14. Wolfson went to Lane Kiffin first after the game. I've never seen a losing coach interviewed first before.
And that's really the story from this game. Meyer had his chance to knock Kiffin into the next century. The two teams will never meet in a more unequal talent position. Meyer beat Fulmer 59-20 and 30-6 the past two seasons. Kiffin kept it within 10 despite clear offensive limitations in his first season.
In the end, Kiffin didn't win, but he went for the jugular on the Vols' final offensive play. Even with Crompton struggling at quarterback, he dialed up the fake slant and deep ball. Florida intercepted the pass, but in the process Kiffin did something more impressive, he proved he wasn't afraid to take a chance and that he could stand on the opposite sideline from Meyer and not get destroyed.
In the process he made Vol fans across the country optimistic that better days are ahead.
In the immediate aftermath of the game, my phone blew up with messages. Every Vol fan who texted me confessed they'd never felt better after a loss. Time will tell whether Kiffin can challenge Meyer for conference superiority, but for one day at least, Kiffin wasn't deterred as he jogged off the field.
"We'll see 'em next year," he smirked.
From the early returns it's safe to say, Kiffin's no Palin. Instead he's something else -- UT's own Papa Smirk. ...

hahaha the bickering continues...
I KNEW Meyer would say something to get some damage control in, mainly for recruiting... nice try bitch, but you made it WAY too obvious... yeah, you didnt want to kick their ass, you're right and you didnt mean the "your guys played hard" after the game...
Kiffin shot right back though.
Quote : | "Florida might not have blown out Tennessee like everyone was expecting, but Gators coach Urban Meyer isn't so sure the Vols' goal was to pull out all the stops to win Saturday's Southeastern Conference spectacle.
Tennessee lost 23-13 Saturday to No. 1 Florida in Gainesville. The Vols were within a touchdown in the second half and had possession of the ball. Yet Tennessee stuck with an extremely conservative game plan offensively, as coach Lane Kiffin felt it was their only chance to stay close to the Gators.
In looking back at the game, Meyer said Sunday he probably should have opened up the defending national champs' offense. But he said there was no reason to because of the Vols' conservative approach to their own offense.
"When I saw them start handing the ball off, I didn't feel like they were going after the win," Meyer said.
"The way we lose a game there is throw an interception. Why put yourself in that position? Let's find a way to win the game. We're not trying to impress the pollsters. We're trying to win the game. A lot of it had to do with the way they were playing. It made our life a little easier."
Kiffin said he put his Volunteers in the best position they could be in to beat Florida. Then he took one more shot at Meyer, who said several of his players had been hit by the flu.
Asked whether he was worried about the flu also hitting Tennessee, Kiffin said: "I don't know. I guess we'll wait and after we're not excited about a performance, we'll tell you everybody was sick."
Tennessee was tagged as a 30-point underdog thanks in part to some of Kiffin's offseason comments about Florida.
The Vols' first-year coach pledged to sing "Rocky Top" after beating the Gators at the Swamp and accused Meyer of an NCAA violation in trying to hang on to a recruit who eventually joined Kiffin at Tennessee.
SEC commissioner Mike Slive reprimanded Kiffin for the latter and warned all coaches about taking shots at one another.
"This offseason the commissioner made a big deal of renewing vows in terms of what we say about other teams, other coaches and other players," Kiffin said. "Obviously Urban feels he doesn't need to follow that. We won't say anything else."
Tennessee didn't play its role in what was supposed to be a Florida blowout.
With 11:37 left in the game and Florida (3-0, 1-0) holding a 23-6 lead, the Vols recovered a fumble by Tim Tebow at their own 2. Kiffin turned to running backs Montario Hardesty and Bryce Brown to pound out runs and catch short passes.
That's where Meyer felt Kiffin wasn't concerned about winning.
"They wanted to shorten the game. I remember looking out there and there's 10 minutes left in the game and there's no no-huddle, they are down, I think it was 23-6 and [there's no] urgency," he said.
Kiffin said he preferred to turn to his tailbacks, who had little trouble moving the chains against the Gators' defense, rather than the Vols' struggling passing game.
It worked. Hardesty scored on a 17-yard run with 8:11 left to cut the margin to 23-13.
"That was the best thing to put us in position to win, and we moved the ball doing that," he said. "That was how we needed to play at that time."
With about 2 minutes left in the game and a chance to score, Kiffin gave Jonathan Crompton -- who had already thrown one interception -- a chance to throw down field to Denarius Moore. The pass was picked off by Ahmad Black for Crompton's seventh interception of the season.
"People should know the truth. We came out to play," Moore said. "They said it themselves. They didn't expect us to come out and play like that. We just played our hardest, and so did they."
Kiffin said the Vols got beat by Florida QB Tim Tebow, who made some key scrambling plays in third-and-long situations.
He'd also like another shot at the senior quarterback who he calls "Superman."
"I wish it was like basketball where we got another chance to play them, where we play them two times in a year," he said. "Unfortunately we won't get to play him again, and they'll have to play without [Tebow] next time."" |

Quote : | "In Saturday's game, the Gators missed at least two tackles on UT tailback Montario Hardesty's 17-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
"I think we faced the best running back we're going to face all year," Meyer said. "He's tremendous. But it's not a reason to miss tackles. We've got to get better. We have to tackle better. Our pursuit wasn't great either, for whatever reason.
"For the first time this year we really sat and played a true running team. The first two (Charleston Southern and Troy) were all over the place with the spread and the shotgun run game. This team turned about and handed the ball off to No. 2 (Hardesty) and No. 11 (Bryce Brown), two really good backs." |
Dont know if Meyer is making excuses or giving compliments. Nice to see some respect for 2 amazing running backs tho.9/22/2009 11:39:13 AM |

Quote : | " Tennessee's starting lineup against Ohio University on Saturday will include at least one change. Maybe more.
Left guard Vlad Richard was on crutches Monday and won't play against the Bobcats due to a knee injury he sustained in the 23-13 loss at Florida last Saturday.
Tackle Jarrod Shaw worked at left guard, with redshirt freshman Aaron Douglas taking over at right tackle.
"We're going to move some people around, without getting too specific about it,'' coach Lane Kiffin said. "We need to play better. We're not pleased with where our performance is.''
Shaw, who has started all three games at right tackle, will compete with Cory Sullins at left guard, said offensive line coach James Cregg.
Cregg said Douglas, a converted tight end, played "extremely well" in limited action at Florida.
"There's always things to get better at, though,'' Cregg said. "There's always little knick-knack things to clean up with him and we expect him to do a good job.''
While praising the line's effort at Florida, Kiffin was critical of some technique mistakes that he said hurt production in the red zone.
In the first half, UT had first down at the Florida 11 and later first-and-goal at the 4. Both times the Vols had to settle for field goals.
"Our defense played well enough to beat the number-one team in the country,'' Kiffin said, "and we didn't play well enough on offense to do it.
"So we're going to open up some competition and move some guys around and figure out how to get this thing better.''
Receivers, Too: The O-line isn't the only position with open competition this week. Lack of production at receiver is another issue.
Freshmen Marsalis Teague and Nu'Keese Richardson have been seldom seen since the opening game. Veterans Quintin Hancock, Gerald Jones and Denarius Moore have gotten most of the snaps, due to their experience in run blocking.
"We need to be more productive out there,'' Kiffin said. "Which we will (be) when we get more chances. We didn't get very many opportunities for the receivers.
"This week will be big for a lot of players, on the offensive line, the receiver group, the special teams, because we need to get better.''
Thompson Watches: Linebacker LaMarcus Thompson sat out Monday awaiting results of tests on his back. He was hit in the back at Florida. Freshman Greg King worked in his place.
"I'll be ready,'' Thompson said. "It's a little bruise. Nothing much.''
Making a Move?: Brent Vinson worked at corner in place of Art Evans. Ben Martin got time at defensive end with the starters.
"Brent did well in his snaps (at Florida),'' Kiffin said. "Brent's a good player for us. There's just a lot of competition back there.''
Being Physical: Kiffin praised the team for playing physical at Florida, which was a point of emphasis.
"When I got here,'' he said, "that's something they told me about, you better get your team ready to go play them.
"Because we've been scared of them in the past. I think it was obvious Saturday we weren't.''
Berry Recognized: Safety Eric Berry was named The Lott Trophy player of the week, after recording 11 tackles and his first interception of the season at Florida.
The Lott Trophy is annually awarded to college football's top defensive player.
Tickets: Tickets are available for the Ohio game at UTTix.com, the arena ticket office or 800-332-VOLS.
It will be UT's only pay-per-view telecast of the season.
Numbers: UT opens as a 21-point favorite over Ohio. ... UT slipped two slots to fifth in the nation in total defense (197.3 yards) after Florida. ... Montario Hardesty is second in the SEC and 10th in the nation in rushing at 115 yards per game. " |
props to Vlad for finishing the game hurt and doing a good job, need him back in two weeks though9/22/2009 12:16:56 PM |

did you Tennessee folk really think you had a chance in this game regardless of how 'close' it was
4-8

you're gonna give a A- to a loss? wow.... yeah your opinions are now relegated to the garbage bin]9/22/2009 12:53:58 PM |

no, no one thought they had a chance... thats the whole point...
and for the players they had they played an A game definitely. I dont think they could have played much better actually. I mean, they played at least 20 points better than anyone expected. Now just imagine if they had actual talent on offense outside of RB
I love how everyone else in college football (coaches, reports, writers, etc.) have no problem understanding this Tdub trolls cant grasp it.

a loss is a loss jb, sure it wasn't as bad as it could have been but you know who doesn't care? this bit right here 1-2 and 3-0.
you can console yourself with all the placation's of "but they weren't even expected to compete!" or "they played really well!"
but does that change anything?
