He's saying the sport is turning into dancing when the athletes like the american can't pull the tecnical jump that is the quad. Which many consider to be the marquee trick. but if you look at all the score and all the recaps you will note almost everyone scored the american's technical aspect higher than plushenko's. His entire program was technically perfect and precise and his transition scores were also rated highly. Sure the russian can make jumps in his sleep, but as they said his entire program was in waves. High rates of difficulty for the jumps which he was almost perfect followed by just subpar slow imperfect transitions and mediocre footwork. He definitely should not have won. As i said, the american put together 4:40 of near perfect skating. 9 times out of 10 the Russian would probably take gold. But not this time, this time he was defeated soundly.



and i can't believe i'm arguing figure skating. Men's figure skating at that. thank god this only happens every 4 years.

The coverage sucks! All day they have interviews and then show skiing in tape delay while showing very little bobsledding. NBC is going to love the addition of golf and rugby 7s to the 2016 summer games. They'll be able to have interviews between everyone of Tiger's shots and then show the second half of the USA Rugby 7s match since they only play 7 minute halves in that sport. Then they can have more interviews again.
