fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu.....

no ticket to the tenn. tech game either with 5 points. If this screws me over for the rest of the basketball season I'm going to be in a rage.

Never missed but a couple basketball games my whole time here at state.

EDIT: If you got an email saying you didn't get a ticket, check gopack. Somehow I did receive a ticket even though the email said otherwise.

But for some reason it says General Admission on it, when online it assigns a specific seat.

Oregon's new basketball floor...

FYI the ticket system is always wonky for the first couple of shitty games. In the past they seemed to skip the lottery a lot and go straight to on demand.

N&O's ACC picks:
Quote :
"1. Duke (15-1 in the ACC): The smarter prediction might be 16-0, but you have to figure there will be one night when half the team has Siberian Flu and the other half shoots 35 percent.

2. Virginia Tech (12-4): Not only will Seth Greenberg take a team to the NCAA tournament this season, the Hokies have the backcourt to hang around a while.

3. N.C. State (11-5): The freshman hotshots won't have to be all-world if Tracy Smith, Javi Gonzalez, Richard Howell and Scott Wood improve just marginally.

4. North Carolina (10-6): The Heels have more potential than a year ago, but there's not an abundance of size and experience. Injuries could become an issue.

5. Maryland (8-8): Gary Williams will outcoach enough guys to keep the Terps fairly competitive. But forward Jordan Williams has to dodge foul trouble, and a playmaker must be developed.

T6. Florida State (7-9): Chris Singleton and Derwin Kitchen will keep the Seminoles in a lot of games, but there's just no home-court advantage in Tallahassee.

T6. Miami (7-9): Sophomore guard Durand Scott could turn pro at season's end. If so, Frank Haith would be smart to take a powder, too. This turnip can't have much blood left in it.

T8. Clemson (6-10): The Tigers went 7-1 at home in league games last season. New coach Brad Brownell won't be so fortunate.

T8. Boston College (6-10): If new Eagles coach Steve Donahue can make a decent transition to a more difficult schedule, Joe Trapani, Reggie Jackson and Corey Raji will do some damage.

T10. Georgia Tech (5-11): The Yellow Jackets have an army of guards. It's just that none is all-conference material, and the frontcourt is empty.

T10. Virginia (5-11): The Cavs shot only 42 percent last season - and that was with Sylven Landesberg playing in 27 games.

12. Wake Forest (4-12): C.J. Harris and Ari Stewart should take 75 percent of the shots, but they won't convert 75 percent."

Fuck the N&O. Bunche of tarholes..

Anyway, regarding Duke... If I had to pick a year their roster would win a title it would certainly be this year over last but that is sports for you. Any team that loses a Lance Thomas from their starting five is sure to be improve..

^^ Vitale has followed NC State long enough to know that we will find a way to fuck up.

As for Oregon's floor, that statement "Somewhere deep in the woods" is pretty gay.

From 15 crazy things that could happen by Doug Gottlieb:

http://insider.espn.go.com/ncb/preview2010/insider/columns/story?columnist=gottlieb_doug&id=5768403

Quote :
"6. Harrison Barnes could be the player of the year: He's already an Associated Press preseason first-team All-American, and Barnes' overall team game and basketball IQ will bring UNC back to the top of the ACC. "

Quote :
"9. NC State should make a nice run in the NCAA tournament: Tracy Smith can score down low, incoming studs Lorenzo Brown and C.J. Leslie are both big-time talents and Scott Wood can really stretch a defense. Ryan Harrow is a true freshman who should eventually take over at the point despite a very difficult schedule. As long as the Pack survive to dance, they should mature and become dynamic in March.

Pitt defeated Rhode Island, 83-75, tonight in the season opener at the Petersen Events Center.

Brad Wanamaker led the way with 24 points and Ashton Gibbs added 20 points.

No. 5 Pitt trailed for most of the first half and needed a 9-0 run in the final 1:20 to take a 37-36 lead at the intermission. The Panthers led by eight with five minutes to play, but that lead was trimmed to two with 1:40 left.

Groupon today is for a few of the less important NCSU basketball games. Saturday, November 27 men's game against Fairleigh Dickinson at 6 p.m. or January 1 men's game against San Diego. $15 for two tickets.

A video on the Oregon website has the designer saying it represents Matt Knight. So what looks like Pi A Pi is MATT. It looks the way it does because the designer also wanted it to look like a Japanese shinto shrine gate.

firstly, that's very egotistical for him to put his fucking first name on the floor. at least make them name the floor after him or something somewhat classy.

second, why would the university of oregon be associated w/ japanese culture?

I think Matt Knight is Phil Knight's father. Phil Knight is the main dude for Nike. The designer said they wanted the name Matt to fit with the O at center court and somehow it looks like a smile.

Is there some connection to Oregon (other than this guy having the naming right to the arena)? Oregon always seems to be an advertising whore of a team. I remember the uniforms last year, and now this. I dont get it. Also that floor looks fucking hideous.

Harrison Barnes credibility watch?

Quote :
"John Henson had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Tar Heels, while heralded rookie Harrison Barnes had a quiet night with seven points on 2-for-9 shooting and six turnovers. Earlier this week, Barnes became the first freshman named to The Associated Press preseason All-America team since voting began before the 1986-87 season."
