Yeah they're crediting all of us.
5/3/2010 12:07:58 PM
I can't find the WRAl story...can somebody link it?
5/3/2010 12:10:43 PM
it's still just a tiny little news briefi wonder when they'll update with all the pics?http://www.wral.com/news/news_briefs/story/7529635/
5/3/2010 12:11:42 PM
Thanks. Where did they credit all of us? Was that on TV?
5/3/2010 12:15:50 PM
they're supposed to credit you too? did you talk to someone about it?misha emailed with a producer at like 4am and was told that our pics would be credited to her, me, and egyeyes.but i didn't watch the news this morning so i have no idea if the pics were credited to her on live TV or if they'll just be credited on the website.]

5/3/2010 12:20:08 PM
Funny, nothing about bricks being thrown into windows...
5/3/2010 12:20:38 PM
yea i dunno where all that was coming from, cuz we were in the thick of it for a good hour and there was no vandalism beyond the construction barrels ]

Oh, no, I didn't submit any pictures, but when egyeyes said they are crediting all of us I thought she meant TWW as a whole. And yeah, these are all pretty favorable stories so far
5/3/2010 12:23:33 PM
Yeah that was in reply to kiljadn's post in which he referenced miska's earlier post.
5/3/2010 12:27:53 PM
^^^?
5/3/2010 12:32:08 PM
i think that was in response to my "i dunno where that came from" statement. i guess the police scanner mentioned bricks being thrown. i don't really believe it though. people would have been arrested had that kind of vandalism occurred.]
5/3/2010 12:33:14 PM
If you go about halfway into this video you can hear an RPD officer talk to the crowd and tell them he wants them to have as much fun as possible and that they've been behaving fairly well:I saw some girl in a parked car near the library with a camera standing through her sunroof taking video footage while playing some music and getting people to dance.. here's her footage: ]

From the NBC Producer:
5/3/2010 12:35:32 PM
^ That's good, for NBC. They have their shit together and are reputable. If you've received no contact from WRAL and know for a fact that your images were used in their broadcast, you need to be raising bloody hell. They have a TERRIBLE habit of stealing content from local photographers and using it without paying for it or giving attribution credits.
5/3/2010 12:35:51 PM
Yea I heard the report of car windows being smashed on the RPD scanner feed, but when I was out there I didn't see any vandalism past kicking barrels over.In fact, when the students rushed Hillsborough Street, a car got stuck in the middle of it. After a minute or two, some students helped move the crowd so the car could pass through the mess. The people in the car were all like Also, there are several piles bricks all along the sidewalk, and I didn't see one get picked up.
5/3/2010 12:53:31 PM
unless they did it between 12:35-12:45 WRAL didn't say anything about this on their noon news... but they did this morning?I love how News 14 and ABC have way more elaborate stories and online articles than WRAL has and they are right across the street...
5/3/2010 12:53:47 PM
OK heres the offical report form NCSU on who got arrested/written up last night. (Times arnt right as they "cited" the brickyard driver at 2am when it was like 1230.)Anyone know anything on the med assist in the brickyard since raleigh fire and an ambulance got called? I figured the firetruck was someone pulled an alarm on campus somewhere.
5/3/2010 1:03:17 PM
someone woke up the chancellor by knocking on his door
5/3/2010 1:04:40 PM
out of 2,000 to 3,000 people, a couple are bound to do something stupid. props for the majority of people being civil, the press so far is pretty positive.

5/3/2010 3:06:12 PM
now if only i could pick the meme i want to respond with...
5/3/2010 3:07:55 PM
5/3/2010 7:13:05 PM
wait...there was no music...so this "rave" never happened right?furthermore, since the definition of a riot is: a form of civil disorder characterized by disorganized groups lashing out in a sudden and intense rash of violence against people or property. While individuals may attempt to lead or control a riot, riots are typically chaotic and exhibit herd behavior.and none of the bolded area happened...this was neither a riot or a rave...just a collection of students? Thats where I get tired of these kids claiming it was either of the two.
5/3/2010 7:37:07 PM
well you could have just as easily bolded this part: "riots are typically chaotic and exhibit herd behavior."
5/3/2010 7:42:21 PM
5/3/2010 7:58:00 PM
It was a mob, not a riot.

I'm not sure why it is BS for her to be charged... She definitely planned an unpermited event and solicited a DJ to come and setup/play on the brickyard. This makes her more than complicit.I mean, if I hired a band to come play on the 7th floor of DH Hill and advertised it such that a several hundred people attended, I would definitely expect to get into trouble with student conduct. What piece am I missing here? The most damning thing that she did was soliciting the DJ. If it wasn't for that, I could see a weak defense in the argument that there's nothing wrong with trying to get a few (thousand) friends together to have fun on the brickyard.
5/3/2010 11:12:08 PM
Yep, gotta agree with Solinari. I'm not a fan of Cousins, but this seems like a pretty clear-cut case of student breaking university policy, university enforcing said policy. I mean hell, if Cousins really wanted to, he could drag every single person in that Facebook group into his office and drum up charges since they all could be accused of
5/3/2010 11:22:44 PM
this may be the start of a terrible/awesome tradition at state
5/3/2010 11:26:01 PM
wouldnt EVERYONE that was there be held "not in compliance" with that charge though?
5/3/2010 11:28:07 PM
I like how I pretty much called this. How you like that, Tyler Orban?Eat a dick, son.
