I really pissed a machine operator off today.

The guy pulled out his cell phone and unlocked the screen (recently, we have cracked down on cell phone usage, and all the operators signed a form saying that they are not to use their cell phone). He thought we were buddies. He thought wrong.

I tried being nice and told him to put it away. I said I was trying to be nice and that I wasn't going to have him written up or anything. At first he thought I was kidding and he gave me the "huh? What? What are you talking about" treatment, like I didn't "see" anything. I said "seriously, put it away."

The guy went OFF. He was like "don't you fucking tell me how to do my job," and he was yelling, telling me how he doesn't need the job and that he's doing us a favor, and that he wasn't being paid enough. Then he tried accusing me of using my cell phone on the plant phone, and I quickly told him I don't even carry it with me out on the plant floor. Then he tried the sob story of his wife is sick, and he "needs" to text her, like I really care. Then he broke a sensor after hitting the product with a pry bar after it got jammed. He was beating on it like an ape because I got under his skin.

Then he tried telling me to fix the sensor, and I said no, you broke it, you fix it. He told me to get the fuck out of his face. I left and relayed every single thing he said to me about how he doesn't care, the profanity and the general disrespect he showed towards me to his manager and to HR.

It was great getting under his skin He gets under everyone else's skin. And apparently he's been in the HR's office quite a few times in the past. He's a very smart guy, but he has a shitty attitude, and IMO, his shitty attitudes outweighs his intelligence.
