I'd rather have the guy who wins more games.

That's most likely going to be the guy who was about to break all kinds of ACC and NC State records.

Only faggots care about process more than results.

You realize he was the only reason we won ANY games over the last three years, yes?

Not even close. In fact I'll argue that RW is the reason we lost 3 games last season. He's progressively gotten more INT prone each season. Plus our defense was pretty solid last year, but being the redneck you are I doubt you realized that. If TOB can go 5-7 with Daniel Evans, I'm fairly certain he can make a bowl with Mike Glennon. I hope you faggots are ready to eat shit when we go 9-3.

I expect we'll be pretty solid next year until Glennon's frail body breaks in half in game 4. Then all bets are off

^^^Same here. I always get excited about football season, but last year I just didn't see us improving much. Very glad I was wrong. I'm cautiously excited about this season. I don't have super high expectations, but we've got a week schedule and we return some good players.

^^^^well you were fucking stupid last year because we returned all acc wrs te and qb on an offense that earned the preseason nickname of "the perfect storm". We returned irving who was an all world lb with two other amazing lbs. We had continuity on an o line and dline that couldn't possibly get worse and we had tenutas blitzing on a defense that had been awful. We also ended up having a good kicker and hb. Anybody who expected less than 7 wins last year just didn't know football at all. Anybody who expected less than 9 after seeing the first three games wasn't very knowledgable either. We were clearly the best team in the ACC maybe not overall talent but at the skilled positions which is what count the most. We choked hard.

^I would say you are probably the only person on this entire NCSU focused board that thinks we were the best team in the ACC last season.

^^Well we did lose an embarrassment of a game (on both sides) at Clemson. Memory isn't that good but I think I remember all but giving ECU a good 20+ points in the first quarter and trying all game to dig ourselves out. Those are two games we should have had. Florida State counterbalanced those I suppose.

Still if there's one thing that history as a State fan has taught me it's to set expectations low. Come into the season with a "lucky to win 5 games" attitude and walk away ecstatic. Come in with a "we are absolutely going to win a minimum of 10 games this year" and blow a gasket as you watch Clemson and Maryland dismantle us like we were pre-Cutcliffe era third stringers at Duke.

There are lots of unknowns this year, so as far as I'm concerned expectations are low again.

That's actually the best way to go. I remember completely not paying attention to college football in the leadup to the 2002 season, and we saw how that ended.

Meanwhile, 2003 to 2006, we were all pumped for the season and ended up with 2 lame bowls and a lot of bullshit.

ditto on packboozie's response to this, and i'll raise that a "Nate Irving anyone?" tack on Spencer, Williams, Bryan and a few others and you'll realize Wilson wasn't all that alone out there making things happen over the last 3 years. come on.

I think having solid guys like Maddox and Sterling in the LB corps helps us out a lot. Still wish William Beasley and E.J. Carter had been able to stay on the team though.

Although our AD isn't the greatest, the football posters have been pretty good for a decent number of years. I mean nothing could get much worse than this Duke football poster.

Taking a visit back to Raleigh in a couple weeks. Would the 2011 Football poster be available in the Wolfpack Club office? I have like all of them in recent years, but don't have this year yet as I live out of town...

first, it's the defense on the field (Carter plays TE). Pictured are seniors LB Ray Michel and S Clem Johnson (2009). I can't remember if Johnson picked off TJ Yates in the game in '09, but it sounds right.

Plus, Carter has been out with an injury the past 2 years. He just recently got playing time at the end of the 2010 season.

HD blog post today w/ TJ Graham
http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/25396/nc-state-wr-t-j-graham-doubles-as-track-star

like this quote:

Quote :
"What’s it been like with Mike Glennon, the relationship and the rhythm you’ve had with him as opposed to Russell Wilson? How different is catching the ball from him?

TJG: It’s a little different. You have the quick timing from him. He’s quick, he’s very persistent, he’s good with his steps. Russell is more, he’ll create and you have to adjust with him. Mike, he’s going to throw the ball or throw it away.

More predictable?

TJG: Not more predictable, but run your route properly and the ball will be right where it’s supposed to be. Mike, he’s going to throw the ball deep. Russell runs and makes plays, just makes plays. Different types of players.

it warms my heart to know that we have made spirit-crushing plays in head-to-head matchups during Yates' career:

2007: 4th down pass by Yates broken up in end zone by Jimmie Sutton
2008: Alan Michael-Cash sacks Yates on 3rd and long to end the 3rd quarter, with the Heels down 31-10, forcing Butch to bench Yates
2009: Clem Johnson intercepts Yates on UNC's last drive
2010: With less than 6 mins left in the game, Yates leads a final 80-yard drive down the field and throws a TD pass to bring the Heels within two points, 27-25. Yates' two-point conversion pass falls incomplete. Later, Terrell Manning sacks Yates in the endzone for a safety to secure the win.
