Lydia's character had to be a direct response to the criticism of the powerless housewives in the shadows on this show.

She's still pretty jittery, but has never really been shy about ordering violence. She just doesn't want to participate or have to see it. There have been a few examples of that and in each case when she is tested to her face, she backs down.

Skylar on the other hand has now shown that she's all in by refusing to talk to Hank and now trying to convince Walt that even though he's willing to turn himself in, that they can get away with this and keep the money.

Also, that ^^ is amazing.
