^^ still very unlikely. There is no real precedent given its a dark theater, packed to the rafters, with smoke in the air and chaos all around. I'd say there is probably as good a chance of a cross-fire situation as actually subduing Holmes. Of course most with a CC permit likely would realize this and not fire.

Of course this, along with any response you may have, is purely speculative given the set of circumstances is different then anything we've ever seen.

Yep, i would think it would be much, much, much easier to walk into a dark theatre and start firing and indiscriminately kill anybody you hit, versus trying to target one person in a dark theatre with smoke in the air, bullets flying, and innocent people running around and screaming for their lives.

not sure if this has been covered already, I'm not going to read the whole thread but I'm really surprised no one tried to tackle the guy. It must have been extremely dark and chaotic for that not to happen, especially when I think in almost every other situation like this there's been people attempting to tackle or fight the shooter in some way.

I am annoyed when people are placing blame on the victims, not that you are Minka, but it was a dark theater filled with tear gas. At that point all you can think of is yourself and the people with you, even if you knew where the bullets were coming from, you don't know how many attackers there are and you don't know what weapons the shooter has, the best thing you can do is lay down.


Many survivors said they thought it was opening night special effects or something at first,until it started to burn...

Yes, just to be clear, I've seen plenty of victim blaming when it comes to this tragedy and that definitely was not my intention. It was just a supposition on how dark, confusing, and chaotic it must have been and how I could see a chance to fight back or even shoot back to take him out might be all but impossible.

If I was in a theater in dude with red hair, dressed in all black, went out the emergency exit I would think something was up. Actually if anyone went out the emergency exit I would be concerned.

I keep thinking what it would be like if that happened at my regal. I usually go to the movies with my mom so I think my plan of action would have been to push her immediately down and try to listen to where the shooting would be coming from and force her and my head down and not look up at all and just wait. We almost always sit in the middle back so it would be hard to try to escape, no way to get to the door in the stadium seating, you would have to rush down toward the shooting sounds to get to the hallway to escape, so I know my head would be screaming "go to ground, stay to ground, do not move or look". But what if people are trying to crawl or run on top of you... how would I keep mom down and myself from getting shot... ugh I dont know what I would do

it would be difficult to pinpoint the soud of gunfire with a moving source because of how the theater handles sound


and if people are crawlin on top of you then they get shot and fall ontop of you and you hide out in there underneath the dead like youre in the foxholes
