I don't think he's saying that at all - I think he's commenting more on our culture and the rise of selfishness, greed and lack of patience.

Whether that is objectively true or not, I guess I can't really say but I will say this - I can certainly understand people not racing to join the military or anything like that when our politicians send us into wars such as Iraq '03 and then handcuff the people there with ridiculous rules of engagement and then on top of all that, send inexperienced political appointees in to manage everything.

^^^^Tillerson is bad. Very bad. We've lost a ton of important, experienced people and not only are there no people lining up to replace them, the positions themselves have been cut and on top of that, there are a ton of others where nominations haven't even been made.

From a diplomacy standpoint, he's crippled us. The very nature of diplomacy is heavily people-oriented. You can't streamline and cut and increase efficiency like in a business. Relationships between specific people actually matter and take years to build, particularly as it relates to trust.

Trump threw him in there in an attempt to deconstruct government. He's actually succeeding in some respects. Which is hurting us fairly severely.

I don't think he's being pushed out for "performance," though. He's being pushed out because he called Trump a moron. Simple as that. The only reason it's taken this long is because his Chief of Staff actually has some amount of control over Trump which is why things have quieted down a lot since he got the job.

I do not trust Pompeo one bit. To be fair, it's entirely possible I could, I don't know too much about him frankly. But what I have seen and heard from him thus far at CIA has me concerned.
