LOL I wish I could drink at work. It would probably have some pretty gruesome consequences though

kadwackle, I was about like that. It was annoying to reboot every time the power supply disconnected, but I figured I'd deal with it.

But it was still really strange for them to be all 'haha your batteries dead...gotta buy a new one' when it wasn't that old and had a MUCH easier life than my previous battery that had lasted ~2yrs. The attitude of the dude at the genius bar really irked me. I was asking friends last night to let me test my battery in their computer (since I didn't think to ask to do this at the apple store)

They emailed me a 'so, how did it go?' survey this morning; I was frank. I got a call within an hour: "we're sorry about X; Y, as well, and we'll use that as a coaching experience. I'd like to resolve this before you leave for vacation (I noted this while making the appt as the biggest reason I was concerned about not having a battery, and then said they could call back after 5/1 in the follow-up survey)...could you come in today or tomorrow?" I was hoping he'd offer half off a battery

So while he was giving me the new battery, he noticed that my palmrest was cracked (something I'd meant to get fixed before applecare ran out, but didn't.) He said if I gave him 20 minutes, he'd fix that too.

Then I got home and the touchpad felt different, and the keys, and I realized they replaced those too.

I am pleased

my palmrest has cracked like 47 times and been fixed like 47 times. like everyone i know who has this computer has had the same issue

but yea i can't really complain because they've been pretty good to me. DAMN lucky with the new battery though. i had to buy that shit myself i should have filled out the survey the way you did

but one time when i drove away with my computer on the trunk of my car and it smashed in the road and i told them what happened they fixed it for free anyway even though it was my fault. and they did the keys and touchpad, too!!! but the stinking palmrest is cracked again *SIGH*

This lady at my job is celebrating 10yrs and she gets three weeks pay so she's taking it off so taxes don't kill her or something. THREE WEEKS PAY!

Yet they won't give her a raise for being the highest contributor in the district.

yeah if i had a walnut chamber in my house that i lounged aroudn in smoking jackets and reading leather bound books i totally would

but in that case, i'd probably already have one

however, in my current newer style condo, it'd look dumb to have a globe sitting on my end table

gg

I was already on the fence for my next laptop, and more towards the not-apple side, partially because their service has been slipping.

This has me back towards the center for sure.

I'm also going to (once we're on the road and I have TIME*) type this up for consumerist. They have an above-and-beyond category for excellent customer service.

*I really shouldn't even be taking these few minutes of laziness

nothing. she just refuses to ever go in the crate and she doesn't really chew up shit anymore and she's house trained (i mean if i leave shit out she'll chew it but i've learned my lesson) so the giant crate that she's never even set foot in is just taking up space in my house so i figured i'd get rid of it rather than keep it.

^^ how is your puppy? does he still have stitches

yea i think she was just really not into cages since she was from the pound. like she was VIOLENTLY opposed to her crate. like wouldn't even walk NEAR it. and since she's not that bad (i mean she's a puppy but not horrible) i really don't think i need it. i have a baby gate and can gate her in the laundry or bathroom if need be. but thats good enough for me. that crate just takes up SOOOO much room and i'm selling it for $60 when i paid like $75 so i feel like its worth it to sell.

EDIT: i guess in retrospect, thinking about your dog, the one time i WOULD need a crate is if she got injured and needed to be put away while i was out so as to not further injure herself BUT i have the baby gate and again i think a small bathroom or laundry room would be fine if i really needed a small space to keep her

I think it'll depend on the dog as far as re-injuring themselves go. Gambit didn't touch his staples or stitches all that much, only licked them a few times (thank goodness). But, he's doing much better, thanks Staples are out and it's healing really nicely (except for some scarring). Besides that, he's still a crazy ass.

awww i'm glad

omg we went to carolina pines last weekend with my dog and the first time we went it was fine but last weekend there were some mean dogs. like they weren't outright aggressive but they were kinda aggressive and def DID NOT back off dogs when they were called by their owners

it was sad. my dog cried for a minute cause one was being super mean to her. and i'm sitting there like "UM WHO THE FUCKS DOG IS THIS?!"

my pup has gotten to the point that if I'm in the same room as his crate, he'll sometimes walk into it and lay down in there on his bed I have made for him... when I try to force him in there, it is only a mild resistance (one attempt to back up and then he walks right in), but I think that is his way of checking to make sure that I do in fact want him in there

I have one of those dogs that keeps his fur stuck up the ENTIRE TIME... even though he really is just playing.

I hope some people don't get defensive and think he's going to freak out on their dog... For reals, he's usually a pussy and runs from everything but for some reason he feels the need to LOOK like Billy Badass

^ Gambit does that thing where he'll walk into it if I'm near it!! He just started doing that recently... and sometimes he'll go in it to sulk but now I just say "crate" and he strolls in there.. sometimes he resists mildly, but nothing a treat can't fix

that's excellent brett!! sabrina eventually was the same way; she would chill in her crate all the time, and go in easily whenever she sensed I was leaving. then i began weaning her off the crate

haha, sabrina also sticks her fur up to appear more threatening...AND she drools to appear "mad" she's silly

^^^ nah i mean i like taking my dog to the park. and she'll stick her hair up too and she likes to play rough which is why i take her there. and i've had people be like "oh sorry my dog just likes to play rough" and i'm like "um do you SEE my dog? she loves this"

but the dog that was there last time i went was annoying EVERYONE'S dogs. even if the other dogs like snarled or snapped at him he'd keep attacking them and even when his owner was calling him he wouldn't stop. i was like, gtfo dog.
