I'm quite used to people not liking some of the music I listen to since I listen to everything from classical to black metal, but why do the Disco Biscuits get so much hate here? I know their scene can often be undesirable, but I'm not a fan of hating on bands based on the kind of people who are known to listen to them.

I got an incomplete in my english class last semester because my teacher misplaced my paper, she tells this to me on the last day of class. When I am leaving straight from class to go out of town. Basically I tell her that it won't be possible for me to give her another copy of the paper by the time grades are due. She asks me if it's okay if I just take the incomplete and when I get back the next semester to just bring another copy of it and she will give me a grade then...I'm like "sure!"

So I forget the first week to bring it back, but the second week I take it to the place she told me to drop it off.

A week later I get a letter in the mail telling me that I need to get my incomplete taken care of before April 1st. I ignore it thinking that well they must have printed them out and stuff before I was able to turn mine in.

March 15th rolls around, I send an e-mail to the teacher asking her when I will receive a grade because I'm trying to get my transcripts sent in to ECU. I don't get a reply back to her. E-mail is the only way I have of getting in contact with her.

April 1st rolls around and I still haven't heard back from her.

Spring break, I go and check my grades, thinking that my grade will be a B in that class...I have a hold on my records because I had an overdue library book.

Today I pay my library fee's for the book and I check my grade...I have a D.

I have to have a C or higher class in order to be able to continue with the wachovia program this fall.

WTF?!?!? That paper was no where near bad enough to bring my grade down to a D!

Did she never get my paper???? WTF?!?!? I mean I turned it in the first time around, she is the one who lost it! I turned it in again, she never got in contact with me when I tried to contact her...and NOW I HAVE A FUCKING D IN THAT STUPID FUCKING CLASS! FUCK THAT BITCH FOR REAL!

one time something like that happened to me and i cried and cried and emailed my prof (but he actually emailed me back) and he had entered my grade as a D instead of a B

but if your prof doesn't reply go to the head of the dept or something


on second thought mine wasn't really like that. but you should still go to the head of the dept. and just tell them that you aren't getting a response from the lady. i mean she could have lost it again OR entered your grade wrong.

^^Well basically she thought that I didn't do it...which I don't know why because I had done all my other assignments in that class so why would I just not do the last one. I told her I had the copy of it on my computer at home but I'm leaving to go out of town straight from that class and grades were due before I would get back, so she asked me if it was okay to just give me the incomplete instead of giving me a zero for it.

I didn't feel like arguing with her over that, and I've gotten incompletes before...all I had to do was bring the copy to her and she would give me the grade I deserved.

^Well I just sent her another e-mail asking her why I got a D. Maybe it was an error, gah I hope so! Basically this D could set me back a whole year, and I don't need another year added on to being finished.

Yeah see I don't know. I mean it's past the deadline to fix incompletes, so I don't know if the grade can be changed now or not. But I mean I am sitting here looking at the paper I wrote. If I had gotten the e-mail back saying she still hadn't gotten it, I could have e-mailed the paper to her or something. I mean seriously it wasn't that big of a deal to me at first, until I saw that I got a D in that class it wasn't a big deal to me.

Obviously it wasn't a big deal when you agreed to take an incomplete. When you go back and try to argue your grade you can't even prove to the department heads that you did the original paper, because why would someone who actually did the work agree to take an incomplete in a class?

or stalk them outside their office and if you can't get them go to the dept head or the dean or something (that is what i had to do recently) but find SOMEONE to recognize your problem

and if you are really pissed and upset you can still TRY to fix it. TRY to camp outside her office, call and leave a message, talk to the dept head or your advisor and tell them the problem and own up to your mistakes and take responsibility and maybe they'll throw you a bone

It was the last day of class that she handed them back.

It was on my computer at my house, a desk top, not a lap top, and I didn't have my flash drive with me. Grades were due before I would have physically been able to e-mail her. Also, I kinda had no option but to leave town, I had things I had to do in hickory and I was already running late.

I had actually e-mailed her before that letting her know that I had turned it in...then I got caught up in other things, you know, my current studies, and I didn't think about it until I was having to get my transcripts together...

Yes, this was my fault, I didn't think that she would seriously be ignoring all those e-mails I sent and just end up giving me a zero on that paper...

I mean I guess I don't even know if she did give me a zero on that paper, it could be an error, that's why I sent her another e-mail, if I don't get anything back I'll contact the head of the department.

But whatever, get pissed at me for being pissed.


and fyi, I have never been able to argue for things like that before, even though I knew I had done the paper, I mean I got more emotional than anything when she was telling me that she didn't have my paper. I was on the verge of tears, because I knew that I would not be able to give her another copy before grades were due, that's why she said she'd give me the incomplete and since I had an incomplete before that I got fixed no problem that's why I was relieved to have that opportunity.

It wasn't a lack of concern it was a "Well I turned it in, now I'm gonna focus on this semester" deal until I looked at my transcripts and noticed that I still had the incomplete and was like "shit, I wonder why that is still there"

Then to pissed because I did the paper in the first place, and she was the one who misplaced it (btw, she misplaced stuff all semester and would later find it). And pissed at myself for not staying more on top of it, but I'm kinda the type of person who will forget about stuff if it's not crucial to the moment.

And I'm pissed because I screwed around my first year of college which lead to the up hill battle I was fighting the whole way through, and I'm finally on the homestretch and here this is threatening (if not already done it) to set me back ANOTHER year when I'm already on the verge of saying fuck it, I'll just be a teacher assistant the rest of my life.
