hahahahah that volcano postponed my work trip to Europe this week.

on another note....because i didn't go overseas i have been able to take this opportunity to continue with my move. making some dents in my to-do list but i'll really knock it out when i'm home thursday and friday painting and shampooing the carpets.

we're having a pig pickin' keg party in June for eleusis's 30th birthday

my question is this:

i have secured a pig cooker from a coworker (if we want it, we can use it). should we use that, buy a pig, and force ourselves to get up really early and cook the pig? or, should we scrap the whole idea and hire some local good ol' boy off of craigslist to cook the pig halfway at their house and then drive it to our house (pig cooker and all) and set up shop in our driveway?

i've been told that cooking a pig is a big task, you gotta baste it and stuff. someone here in the office mentioned it needed to cook for 12hrs (at least) and you had to baste it every 2hrs (at least) with sauce and stuff.

i've never cooked a pig before so i have no idea. i was hoping there were some people around here who knew.

besides, since the party's at our house, and i don't know what i'm doing with regards to cooking a pig, and it's my husband's birthday - i'd like to keep it as simple as possible for us. i don't want him to be forced into helping prepare food on his big day. which is why we went the pig cooker route in the first place. making him run the grill at his own party just ain't right
