Some wishful thinking here.

I think Davis ends up somewhere other than Wake (either UNC, Tenn, or South Carolina) and we will add other recruits as well. Seriously doubt we end up last in the conference but the coaching turnover and NCAA uncertainty has certainly taken a toll on recruiting. Owino just flipped to State (was expected) but I doubt we lose anyone else. Jackson would be the only possibility but I think he sticks with UNC.

And we most definitely didn't lose a kid to MTSU. We expressed some interest but Bryson never visited nor did he have a committable offer.

We got Owino? Nice. I haven't seen it reported, but it's showing up on his scout and rivals profile page as a verbal to NCSU.

yea owino's ours

think he tried to commit over the weekend but we wanted to make sure all the transcripts checked out since he's from overseas

can't just let him in without checking anything like the community college 20 minutes down the road...

Definitely passes the look test. He's got the extra gear that's crucial for pass-rushers.

I read somewhere this guy's only played a year of organized football. Could be TOB's next Kiwanuka.

Another one bites the dust

Quote :
"Four-star athlete Beniquez Brown (Florence, Ala./Florence) is nearing a decision. He now has visited Tennessee (Dec. 2) and Mississippi State (Jan. 13), with scheduled trips to both Ole Miss (Jan. 20) and N.C. State (Jan. 27) planned for later this month. That is, if it goes that long.

“It’s down to Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Tennessee,” Brown said. “The decision will be in a couple of days.”

If not, then it looks like the Rebels will get an official visit from him this coming weekend. Regardless, Mississippi State could prove tough to beat. His teammate, Kivon Coman, is committed to the Bulldogs.

Brown, 6-foot-1 and 215-pounds, is a two-way star at both safety and running back. Some schools project him as a linebacker. He’s the nation’s No. 22-rated athlete and the No. 10-ranked recruit from the state of Alabama."

Tried to look for a decent article about him. This is as good as I found.

Pretty cool that last year he didn't know a thing about football last year.

College football has enough trouble with kids coming from destitute houses having difficulty adjusting to the college life. Hopefully we can keep this kid's head on straight.

NC State landed one of their biggest commitments of the year tonight when Lithonia (GA) King High School defensive end Kenderius Whitehead notified the coaches that he would be playing for the Wolfpack.
"NC State was in my heart," said Whitehead. "I went down there for two visits, and I came back feeling like that was the place for me.

"I wanted to take one more visit to be sure, and that's why I went to Clemson. I had a good time on that trip, they laid out the red carpet for me, but I knew it wasn't for me."

An all-state selection, Whitehead recorded 103 tackles and 16 sacks as a senior. He held offers from programs such as North Carolina, NC State, Clemson, Georgia, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Nebraska, Miami, Notre Dame, and Tennessee before recently narrowing his list to NC State, Clemson, and Georgia.

"I felt more comfortable dealing with coach Reed, coach O'Brien, and coach Willis than anyone else," he said. "I felt like I can trust them, and I can accomplish everything I want at NC State. I know people might ask why I chose NC State, but it came down to a feeling and that's where I felt the most at home.

"I'm pacing around all pumped up about it. I'm ready to sign the papers."

Whitehead is rated a three-star prospect by Scout.com. The 6-foot-5, 215-pounder is ranked the No. 45 defensive end prospect in the country

Everything about this paragraph is awesome. I know high school stats basically mean shit, but 103 tackles for a DE is unheard of.

so, UGA is all butt-hurt because they thought Whitehead was in the bag. They even "dispatched their recruiting coordinator to his school yesterday to try and talk him out of it". So this is a big deal. TOB got a recruit over UGA who they had targeted and wanted bad.

^ Still doesn't mean he won't eventually be moved there.

Not saying it's going to happen...but players move around all the time. He'll probably start off at DE because we probably told him that's where he'll get his first shot.

The staff is making a late push with Jamal Marcus out of Hillside:

Nice. That's one hell of an offer list ... Ohio State, Florida, USC, Georigia, etc. If he can run, a 245 lbs LB would be beastly.
