He may by throwing in the towel on First degree. Every time I've heard Cummings on his crosses since they got the witnesses who saw Nancy out jogging, and this closing argument indicates to me that he doesn't think they're going to get a conviction. 5/3/2011 3:37:15 PM |

how are they not to form opinions? isn't that what they are going to do in deliberation? they have to have their opinions of the ten weeks of testimony and the rest of the dog and pony show that has gone on until this point to be able to decide the case.
they just can't voice them with anyone

you're supposed to go through the entirety of the evidence first.
human nature wont allow this, though. and it's always an ebb and flow, until there's an AHA! moment. or something that you cant get out of your mind... like the fact that you were not convinced.5/3/2011 3:42:24 PM |

Cummings need to rent Matlock on DVD. maybe pick up some pointers.
or maybe some old school Law and Order with jack mccoy.

i just think it is ridiculous that the state asks the jurors not to form an opinion.
maybe they should rephrase and ask they they keep their opinions to themselves until deliberation

^^^ maybe the real killer work their way onto the Jury and slowly turns everyone against BC in deliberation.
This should be on the extra feature of the DVD when they make this into a movie. it could be the alt ending.

It basically asking them not to make their mind up until they hear everything everyone has to say.
It's not opinions like "I like mayo." or "june is the best month'.
It's an opinion as in 'decision'. 5/3/2011 3:47:12 PM |
