Joie:

But the $20 is just for the lace one, she mentions that the ones with the corsages are in her shop.

i could just do the mattress but i have the box springs and mattress on it and it's really high. i kind of like it and it'll be easier to keep my dog out of my bed

^Congrats on your new bed!! It is super cute and I love it when beds are high up, so I agree about keeping the box springs.

Going out on a limb here cause I dont know where to look for them online or what the official name of them is. For the summer I plan on going the typical lesbian style swimwear route. The uniform requires shorts and a sports bra. I know where I can get swim shorts but what are the tops called? The style I am looking for would be like a tight t-shirt or tight t-shirt that is cut halfway. Thanks

ugh now i've started looking at bathing suits but my fat ass is not wearing a bikini anytime soon

but VS has so many cute ones. i've never gotten a bathing suit from there before though - good quality?! i've also never had a bandeau top but i really want one. i know a lot come with the strap that you can hook on but i don't know i like the strapless look i'm just worried about functionality. not like i have huge boobs but still.

I like bandeau tops, especially when it comes to tan lines. Just be sure to put the straps on before you walk in the ocean.

^^^over the past 10 years, I've pretty much been buying exclusively from VS for bathing suits. I've bought ~4 or 5 not from VS. Is it number of times worn? Is it the quality? I dunno...but over those 10 years I have 4 bathing suits that I still own in good condition and all of them are VS. I may be wrong, but I would think the number of suits that lucyinthesky posts from there itt is a pretty good indicator of their quality as well

bandeaus are just as secure, IMHO, as triangle top or any other bikini top...the ladies can still fly out at any moment, but for the most part you're good to go

hahaha ok awesome thanks! yay now i'm super excited. the prices don't seem bad either (versus somewhere like jcrew or even belk where i've gotten a lot of suits before)

i think i'm going to order 1 or 2 from VS. do you buy online or in the store?

i really like their suits and i really want a bandeau. and i agree - if you're in the ocean any kind of bikini is never 100% safe (i've had the bottoms come off before, even. whoops).

you might want to try them on in the store just to make sure you like them and you get the right size. i like how they carry their swimwear in the stores now.

I am so jealous of people who can buy clothes online. I don't think I will ever be able to do that because like 1/20 of the things I try on in stores actually work for me. Even IF I know what size I am, which I normally don't.

I've always bought online...I've never tried on one in a store. Then again, I'm not a big fan on trying anything on in the store...the whole dressing room atmosphere has always been a big turnoff for me.

That said, I've never had a problem ordering two sizes of the same suit online and returning the one that didn't fit when it arrived. VS' return policy is VERY easy, and my refund has always been quick.

i can usually buy tops online (esp from places like urban outfitters, old navy, gap, etc). i'm usually an XS or a S. if i'm worried i just get the S and it is usually fine.

bottoms....are another story. i can order citizen jeans online because i know my size in the styles i like. but that is it for bottoms. well and underwear i usually just get a S but it doesn't matter if your ass is hanging out in those. a bathing suit however could be a different story

but i like the order 2 of the same and return the other one idea. the dressing room thing is a turnoff for me too.

I, too, have bought vs swimsuits before and they are a definite win. Good quality, and I seem to have a lot of trouble finding tops that fit me correctly but they seem to do the job.

Also I keep wanting to buy a one piece and I always come back to this one - but I'm not sure because I doubt it gives good support for the boobs. But it's still really cute. Any thoughts?

i like the red. though i would be worried about booby support too.

but i like the style!

i want a onepiece also but the ones at VS are no joke. like $150. no thank you. however, i do really like this one:

i like the retro-y one pieces. they're so cute (i think).

okay and i like this one too:

I've been having one suit envy for awhile too, but not having had one since I was probably 10 that is definitely one I would try on in a store again b4 I bought. When 1 pieces started to come back in style a few years ago I tried it out, but my torso is so long that the boob coverage didn't cover very well...actually barely at all. That was a strapless 1 piece.

But I think that one is very cute...I'd rock it.

^ yeah i know lucy likes it. I saw some of it but i just think it would go over horribly.

As far as sizing, some brands are far worse at not having their items follow standardized sizing. For example, Gap. They are probably the worst store I know. But places like j-crew, martin & ossa, or Joe's Jeans that stuff is always the same size. I don't hesitate to order their items offline because I know that I wont have any surprises when it arrives. Try finding stores or brands you like that have set sizing and try ordering from them

Gap is ridiculous with sizing! A size 0 at Gap is a size 4 at other stores. It's terrible.

Also, while zumba is really fun, I would say the best workout is one you can stick to. If you wouldn't feel comfortable in the class, then maybe take a Body Pump or kickboxing class instead. Or spinning. The spin class room is usually so dark that nobody can see you looking goofy.

I'm going to an afternoon wedding in Orlando next month and I want a new cute dress for the occasion. The only dress I currently have that works for the occasion is this yellow one...

...but it's kind of frumpy, IMO. (Sorry, bad pic, but it's the only one I have.) So I want something a little more festive/pretty. I really love the first Victoria's secret dress, but sometimes Victoria's Secret uses cheap materials for their clothing (bathing suits rock tho). And I'm also debating whether or not a maxi dress is too casual for a wedding. The first two dresses are Vickie's ... the others are featured on modcloth.com.

And this is Banana Republic:

Thoughts?

LOVE the third one. Then the fourth one, but that doesn't really say wedding to me. I think a maxi would work though since it's afternoon, if that's what you'd really want to wear.

I think the maxi would work for the wedding, but it's a Catholic wedding so it's in a church ... not sure if that matters. Also, the reception is in the evening, so it might be too casual.

I would definitely get a lot of wear out of the maxi, but I'd prefer that the dress be wedding appropriate, and it may just be too casual.
