Quote : | "So disappointed in the hype around this tournament. If this was England at the Euros no "football fan" would miss a match this huge. Even a lot of my friends won't be watching. Just goes to show that football in the US will never be big enough to actually matter or win something meaningful. All of these "fans" should just not watch during the World Cup either, they don't deserve to. " |
Thats what happens when you finish 4th in north america. Shitty teams never get hype. We might not even make the world cup. We'll be stuck in a battle with panama and trinidad for the last two spots. Its pathetic really.6/3/2016 3:47:00 PM |

Colombia has sucked so far. FIFA world rankings are trash and Colombia was terrible in last years Copa and has been average at best in CONMEBOL qualifying so far. We have just made two killer mistakes but really weren't outplayed.
* don't get me wrong, they are vastly superior technically but they aren't a form team and certainly aren't the third best team in the world right now

Colombia this 2nd half are playing a well paced methodical game trying to break down the American defense while giving the U.S. the ball as little as possible.

We've defended the counterattack better than expected, so that's a moral victory, Cameron having a decent game IMO, Brooks having ok game too. (not perfect but guys are hustling to get back on D for sure). They still seem so dangerous every time they get the ball, so fast and just move directly to the goal on attack, pretty terrifying.
. A pretty amazing set corner, defender is a half step behind, and guy one touches it right into the side net. I bet he sends that into the stands 75% of the time in practice. And then a stupid/unlucky handball.
Shit happens.
On offense. I'm really disappointed in our set pieces for free kicks. Just a complete waste. Wood/Dempsey and to some extent Zardes receiving the ball about 30 yards out right in the middle of the field is pretty dangerous, and they've had some "ok" balls from there. If they can keep working that maybe a decent run can develop and that means a very decent shot.

Just a heads up for anyone going to the game.... Entry took forever getting through the gates (at least at Levi's). Maybe they'll get their act together for Argentina on Monday.
As for the US..... Jesus, it would be nice if we could ever have home field advantage for once. Games I've been to recently against Peru, Mexico, and now Colombia all felt decidedly like away games. It's embarrassing. 6/4/2016 12:54:11 PM |

People are pissed because we suck and have a coach who won't let our stars plaY.
Howard probably saves one of those goals. Klinnsman doesn't get the importance of clutch players because in germany, you have talent everywhere so its safer to go with talent instead of a guy who might try to "do to much" but thats exactly what we need. 1 player to make up for everyone else being subpar. America's not germnay and klinnsman has gott to go. 6/5/2016 4:23:47 AM |

Americans going on and on about Donovan is an insult to the sport in all honesty. Donovan is the most overrated sports "star" I have ever seen. The guy was average at best in Europe and is known to be a massive douche as well. Klinsmann doesn't cater to his bullshit and he would have made no difference at the World Cup. Players like Donovan can be useful leaders in the locker room but as he has proven countless the guy is not a leader but rather a spineless coward that expected to walk straight back into the starting line up after taking a BS "break" while his team earned World Cup qualification.
Mind you Klinsmann also finished 2nd and managed to get out of an extremely tough world cup group. If his established stars like Bradley hadn't let him down against Portugal we may have even pushed for a first spot. Its not Klinsmann's fault that Wondo missed a sitter in the 89th minute against Belgium to almost get a spot at the quarters.
Donovan is a has been. The US needs a bonafide star and I hope Pulisic becomes one.
