if you're going to be standing for 8-10 hours, you need comfort!

as far as cuteness... i'd go with maybe a small wedge on a small platform if you can find one??

you prob need inserts if you have high arches, no matter what shoe you're wearing

This is completely off-topic but I need HELP!!!

I have a bright red, 100% silk dress that I just adore but has a small stain on the front. I think it is lipstick or something along those lines. Anyways, does anyone know of a GREAT dry cleaner in Raleigh who could get this out without ruining the dress? I figured if anybody would have some suggestions, you ladies would!! Please help!!

medlin-davis. Expensive but they are known for doing the best job.

Also, ^ I have high arches and BCBG has incredibly comfortable heels. I wear those when I need to stand for a long period of time

so i have this weird bug to get creative...

http://sewcraftyhouston.com/

i REALLY want to take a class there!! they're mostly full for march but i totally want to learn how to sew [/old lady]

also jerry's artarama offers art classes and i want to take one of those too

and a pottery class i found.. but thats once a week for 5 weeks and i dont think my schedule will be down with that

i tried taking a photography class at one of those leisure learning things in town & it was awful. i left and got a credit and ended up doing a wine tasting class which was ok

i signed up for a class at the apple store for a hands on imovie & idvd class (free, woohoo!)

http://paintingwithatwist.com/calendar/sugarland

i also want to take something at this place

what do you ladies do to get creative and have fun?

oh yeah i also like to shoot guns but thats more for the adrenaline rush (i do keep my target if that counts for creative!)

I taught myself how to sew recently and I've been cranking out some skirts and dresses. It's so awesome because you can custom fit your figure - no more dresses that smoosh your boobs flat.

Of course, Joan is who I want to be when I grow up.

I just don't want them to think I'm being too sexy secretary.

^^ Agreed. Smart hotties get favored for jobs, even though it's not legal. It's a subconscious thing. Just read "Blink".

For teaching jobs the interviewers area almost always women, though, who I don't think are particularly biased towards the sexy secretary look.

I ended up wearing pants anyway because it was snowing and my legs were cold.

i know this is in this thread somewhere, but maybe you ladies have had some new experiences. Anyone got a good place to recommend for waxing (getting eyebrows and a brazilian done, not driving my ass to the place back home)

I get my yearly bonus in 11 days. While most of it is going to pay for our home projects, I've told my husband that I want to spend at least $300 on a really nice purse and wallet set. I got my first Dooney & Bourke at Christmas time and have not been impressed. I've seen LunaK's Coach purse and I really like it.

Anyone have any opinions on what I should get? I've been a Vera Bradley junkie for years and I'm ready to branch out.

I typically like bigger bags, and they definitely have to fit over my shoulder.

this place is bound to have them ( i am just judging based on the picture of their merch. I've heard of this place before)

http://www.ginghamandposh.com/

also, I do recall seeing these at Swoozies (or at least the one @ Triangle Towne Center). That place can be kinda pricey, but they have some cute stuff.

read an excerpt of this last night on the plane, and I'll def be reading it (52 in 52)...want to share w/ the ladies who talk shop as its pretty much about ladies talking shop (in terms of clothes and why they matter)

the opening/excerpt really grabbed me. she's pondering the life of a woman that may have purchased a red high heel that she's looking at. was she a rich woman? was she the kind of woman that just splurged on the shoe b/c she wanted to feel pretty? was the kind of girl that was poor, but walked by the store every day and saved up every penny for these shoes? where'd she go in them? and how the last thing you truly own when you have nothing is the clothes on your back......these red high heel shoes were in a pile of shoes at Auschwitz

I'm getting a spray tan tomorrow (because it's free). I've never done this before. Any pointers? I'm running a big race on Sunday and I don't want my fake tan to rub off on my clothing. Or melt off my body in rivers of sweat.

Those may not be fully compatible goals. Are you getting the spray booth kind, or the person with a spray gun kind?

They only tell you not to sweat/shower for 6-8 hours or something like that, so maybe that isn't what did it. But it happened either way, so it could happen to you too.

I just bought the dress for my friend's wedding! Woo hoo! It wasn't any of the ones I originally wanted, but when I tried it on at Betsey Johnson, it was PERFECT.

http://www.betseyjohnson.com/store/productdetails2.aspx?categoryid=1140&productid=8393&np=1140

Thanks for the feedback and for steering me away from dresses w/too much white.

What places have cute fancy panties that aren't too pricey? I like having new ones because half the fun of them is the newness factor, but then I don't want to spend $$ on something I'm not going to get that much wear out of. I got some at Charlotte Russe this weekend. Rue 21 has a bin of them for 99 cents (they are 99 cent quality, but that's fine with me). Anywhere else y'all know of have cute ones?

I have NO CLUE what kind of shoes to pair w/the new dress. Should I go matchy matchy with dyed shoes or do silver? I'm afraid too much blue will be overkill.

My clutch looks kind of like this:
