damnit my Xbox has not been connected to internet for a month .

With my two place I have 3 options.

-Completely reconfigure my in-house network with 2 switches, route a long ethernet cable to the hallway storage closet.

- Use my computer as the gateway for my xbox 360.

- Give in and pay for the $99 wireless adapter.

You might be able to find a used one for cheap online. I got mine on Craigslist for $20 about a year ago.

Bought "TP-Link TL-WR741ND 150Mbps Wireless Router, 802.11 b/g/n, 4-Port 10/100Mbps Switch"
and
TP-Link TL-WA701ND 150Mbps Wireless Access Point / Repeater, 802.11 b/g/n

for 60$ total from Intrex.

Set the Access Point to Wireless Repeater mode and connected it to your Wireless N network from the router. Set security correctly. Use static ip on Xbox for recommended port forwarding. Profit.

Been able to stream HD shows without much issue. Should be fine for gaming (except probably Street Fighter where I'll still run a damned wire).

Bonus -> You can put a switch behind your access point and plug in your wii/tv/whatever else. Also, you don't have to configure security on each device since they're going wired into the Repeater.

I went 18-0 on wasteland using riotshield only with the blast shield equipped. I hid in the corner by the chopper. I played a bunch of nubs who would try to set up a camp spot right in front of me. I was pretty proud of that.

dweedle actually kept getting kicked out of games on PS3 for being too good.

To level the playing field he would wear a blindfold and ride on a sybian during gameplay, but he still routinely went 30-2, 26-1, etc.

So he finally just rode off into the sunset.
