Was in a train station in Holland when they beat Brazil, the place erupted. Pretty cool

I might watch the game tonight. I wish I had gotten an orange shirt, but my relatives are gonna mail me one hopefully.

I'll predict 1-0 to Netherlands

Forlan may be out on an island by himself and I'm expecting Uruguay to pack it in like a bitch

Alan Hansen went on and on about how average Germany was before the England game and how only 1 or 2 players on their squad could break into England's

I'll take what ESPN has to offer instead

well at least uruguay arent entirely packing it in...sadly though this side ref isnt gonna give anything close to the offense it looks like as hes called 2 really close decisions offsides

^^ you don't think that has more to do with feelings about germany and less with the quality of the analysis in general

^hahaha, and you called me an idiot

any analyst can make a mistake, but they go into far more indepth analysis than the espn soccer moms
the analyst know each player's strength and weaknesses, and can spot themes in the game that are instrumental in the game's outcome
i've played all my life, and can coach but i always seem to learn something from watching them

a good analyst could hold back personal feelings when they're being paid to do a fucking job

we rail on Lalas and Harkes all the time, so why does everybody else get a pass?

and you are a tool. The analysis isn't fucking Julie Foudy and Kyle Martino... Klinsmann and Martinez have been awesome

ive gotta imagine this strike just took over either of forlans great strikes and david villa's semi-mazy run and finish too as goal of the tournament

the thing is, robben is talented enough to not need to rely on that shit. so i don't know why he does it.

although i suppose most players are talented enough, so who knows

retroactive yellow cards ought to do the trick. and have some tough guy analyze the falls.

and did he just get bicycle kicked in the face?

retroactive cards for diving might be good, but it would be better if they could give them during the game. i dont know what would be the best way to do it though. maybe an extra ref watching replays who could relay it to the head ref.

also, nice dive caceres, kicking a guy in the face and then diving. should be a yellow

sadly i think diving has really come about cause refs wont call shit until you fall to the ground and players probably feel like if they are stumbling from gettin clipped but stay on their feet but cant get to the ball, then they are gettin a raw deal for continuing playing...so if you fall to the ground from slight contact then you are keeping possession for your team and if close enough, then you are setting your team up for a scoring chance

that's exactly why. the problem is that refs look at the result rather than the action. a player on the ground is indication that a foul occurred for refs. when the truth is, you can tackle, shoulder, and knock someone down legitimately without having necessarily committed a foul. a lot of times, i think the proper action from a referee isn't to give a yellow for diving (although sometimes it is warranted) but instead to not blow the whistle at all and let play continue. i think we saw that a little bit during the spain-portugal game, when the ref was not having any theatrics
