great recruiter, terrible game coach. he's still resurrected us from laughingstock to at least somewhat relevant.

realistically, we're not going to fire him. there's no cause - and to be clear, I'm not calling for it. Archie would be great but unless Debbie has him or some other all-star with a pension for pain in her back pocket (which I doubt she does) than there is just no way we can do better otherwise.

we can't afford to fire another winning coach and embark upon another embarrassing coaching search that turns up nobody. doing so would land this program in the basement for a decade plus.

He is the best thing we could get for now and has us with an RPI of 44, 3rd hardest schedule.

I don't think one thing from tonight should be on him, but the PLAYERS. They STUNK.

I still can't beleive that some of you people don't understand that you can be "not thrilled" about losing to clemson at home (and "embarassed"), and still not feel that the sky is falling and that our coach should be fired. and what does the size of littlejohn's have to do with it?

(if some of yall were Duke fans, you'd be calling for K to be fired right now. or if you were miami fans, you'd be calling for larranaga to be fired a few nights ago (or last season). it's silly)

Yes we base our opinions on one game not four years of the same stuff.

Look Gott is a B+ coach. He recruits great talent and gets us to the NCAA tournament.

It is not that we do not like Gott, it is just that we have seen what the limit is. This is season number 4 and 18 overall for him. You know what you are getting. His in game coaching is C at best and we still are terrible (115th in the nation) on defense. Look at his recruiting classes compared to Larranaga, Brownell, etc. He has brought in a top 25 class almost every year and yet we hover in the 50s-60s. That's coaching people. It is black and white.

Who is bitching exactly? Just merely pointing out the facts. Herb and Gott inherited totally different situations, but since you insist, Herb had made 5 straight NCAAs, but he and we knew it was time for a change. Herb improved the program and brought stability. Herb's teams played great defense and usually smart basketball but the offense was never quite elite. I appreciate what both of them have done for us. I mean Gottfried was never going to be the long term solution. Or at least I hope not. I think things have gone as well as most of us could have planned. 4-7 years of building up recruiting and getting to the tournament.

Why would you not be curious as to what a young and up and comer like Archie could do here? I don't get it.

nice last 40 seconds dumbasses. pick up a cheap foul they get 2 free throws....then you don't foul for 20 FN seconds while shitty players have the ball then foul the guy who is 88 percent and then you run the clock all the way until 8 for a 2 pointer. This team is HILARIOUSLY BAD. Never hated a state team before, ever.
