the thing that seems very strange to me (which they didn't even try to resolve in this episode )

was they didn't explain desmond

he seemed like he'd been down there a very long time

he didn't really react to seeing jack like jack reacted to seeing him

so did he forget? is it really desmond....or desmond's twin brother "desmond"?

"The one" is obviously someone he thought was sent some long time ago to meet him in the hatch, probably to tell him some important information on what he was doing down there, I won't speculate that much yet. The "What did one snowman say to another" was like their passcode. Its the KKK is my guess.

i agree dzags18, i think Desmond was definitely waiting for someone

but also, he asked if anyone from the plane was "sick" or "died from a sickness"

he seemed to freak out when Locke told him there were 40+ people on the island and when he said 4 people left on a raft, didn't Desmond laugh or look at him weird

i didnt even hear Desmond ask the question about the snowman.....man i cant believed i missed that

For anyone who has read the wikipedia article... theres a section describing the numbers, one little tid bit got me thinking -

Is it possible to connect every single person on the island to each other before the plane crashed by 4 degrees of seperation? In the flashbacks we often saw another character... I wonder if its possible to connect everyone before the crash.

This might all be retardedness - I haven't watched season 1 in a while, but from what I remember there were alot of characters who were seen in other's flashbacks.

I highly advise anyone who wants to speculate to read the article now that I think about it more. Don't keep reading because this might end up being a bit of a spoiler... the numbers basically have to do with the odds of you being able to meet your twin - is it possible that that isn't Desmond, but is in fact his twin? Hence the reason he didn't (supposedly) recognize Jack?

I had been getting pretty irritated with locke's must-open-hatch/island will guide us/new-agey crap, but I really liked it when he stuffed his knife in kate's waistband and said he's 'doing what's best'.

He never showed any change but he either decided to take total control of the situation or maybe realised that going down the hatch might've been a bad idea. (hopefiully both)

Sorry for the poor quality of the picture guys. I recorded it from my TV card with coax in, so it's just cable tv.

But you can clearly see it's the logo or whatever. Whenever somebody gets a digital recording of the show, they can post a better one.
