the people that do the scoreboards and stuff for the bobcats are apparently untrained chimps. they couldnt even get that preproduced score from the previous lakers/bobcats game right. it said the lakers won, even while the commentators were talking about the bobcats outscoring the lakers in the final overtime to come away with the win.
the people seriously fall asleep and dont update it at least 2 or 3 times a game...and they'll get confused between 2's and 3's often as well. 1/27/2007 12:21:25 AM |

damn morrison just blocked the hell out of maurice evans, then evans came down and got a technical haha
86 a piece with 3:12 left
ok 87-86 after carroll hits the tech shot
then kobe tried to draw a bullshit foul where he jumps into you on okafor but okafor was too slick and got the rebound the wallace went down and threw up a nasty layup in kobe's eye
89-86 timeout la
damn gerald fucked up on that screen and left kobe wide open for the tying 3

yeah Kobe has been awful tonite, but that was a big fucking shot.
I waffle between loving and disliking Gerald Wallace more than any player ever.
He makes some outstanding plays but man he's one awful shooter... very injury prone.... gonna be so difficult to decide if he's worth extending or not... I jsut hope Bob is willing to flash some $$ soon cause okafor is obviously gonna wanna get paid after another season like this one
I dont know what the market rate is gonna be for Matt Carroll... he might be able to find like a 3 yr/$6 million deal out there...in a league where Nene can get 6/$60 anything is possible

helluva game
bobcats 99 lakers 93 56.5 seconds left in OT
okafor has 20 points 18 boards and 5 blocks
haha the zen master looks shocked bobcats by 8 with 40 seconds left
hahaha the fucking lakers are fouling when they're down 10 with 10 seconds left
106-97 final score...Bobcats won 4 of their last 5 road games
I think Okafor is trying to make a late impression for an All Star reserve spot

big win -- gotta give credit to Felton. He shot like shit for the most part, but when he drives the lane, good things always happen. He hit a few clutch shots at the end of the game as well. 1/27/2007 1:48:21 AM |

yeah 42 points - 17 in the fourth alone.
The Bobcats really need to think about giving this guy a big-time contract. He plays at full-go all game long. He's not much of a shooter, but you won't find a guy in the league that plays harder.

Not exactly.
Gerald has a player option for $6.05 million. He will definitely exercise his option to become a free agent as he can easily command a multiyear deal worth more per season. He should be in the $9-$10 million range or perhaps more if someone really wants him.
Emeka has one more year on his deal but he will most likely not want to play without an extension. Unfortunately, he's probably going to seek the max. This is the reason the "max" aspect of the NBA really sucks. Everyone who is any good seeks the max. It's just fucking stupid that Emeka can command as much as Lebron, D.Wade, etc when he is probably half as valuable. Our hands are pretty much tied I mean you cant just let the guy walk, but it's pretty irresponsible to hand him a max deal.2/1/2007 10:58:23 AM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
actually i believe emeka is making more than wade right now just for the fact that Emeka got the guaranteed money for the #2 pick an wade got the guaranteed money for the #4(?) pick a year earlier
but hopefully we can keep them both...even though plenty of athlets would jump ship for more dollars a la carlos boozer, maybe mek and force will be different?

but either way, its kinda funny that lebron is "only" making a few million a year for salary even though he's making 9 digits of texas with his endorsements 2/1/2007 11:26:12 AM |
rallydurham Suspended 11317 Posts user info edit post |
Yeah Wade is making more this season but thats not what we're talking about.
We're talking about extensions.
Wade's extension kicks in next season. 4 years, $57 million and he can opt out after three years to sign an even larger deal.
Quote : | "f we have a shot at Oden/Durant I think we let Wallace go" |
You're allowed to play five players on the court at once so this doesn't make any sense.
We will only trade Wallace if we get really good young talent in return. No one is going to be trading away unprotected lottery picks with Oden/Durant in the mix. That was already proven in the Iverson situation last month.

No, we'll probably sign them both. We dont really have a choice we have to re-sign Okafor.
As far as Wallace goes if we let him walk, we're basically saying we don't care about basketball.
If Wallace isnt traded THIS season they'll at least sign him and attempt to trade him next season if they don't want him.
You don't let commodities walk, period. 2/1/2007 11:46:12 AM |

I think they should keep them both. The good thing that I'm currently seeing with this Bobcats team is the fact that they are learning how to win. They've played very well against the really good teams (Mavs, Spurs, Pistons, etc.) this year. They don't give up leads as easy as they used to.
Also, they can still make the playoffs in the East. I know it sounds farfetched, but now, they are only 3 games back from the 9th spot (Miami) and only 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot (New Jersey). This month, they play only 3 teams with records of more than 5 games over .500(Chicago at home, Cleveland and Houston on the road), and the other teams they play are barely at .500 or under. Not saying they will make the playoffs, but you never know in the Eastern Conference. 2/1/2007 12:04:54 PM |

I would say we lock up Okafor and Wallace (possibly to trade Gforce)
We trade BK and we better starting thinking about nailing down Ray-felt long term (agreed?)
then we take whats left of our cap after dumping Ely and Brezc(sp?) keep Hollins and May till their contracts run out and go sign a Damn good Free Agent
And dont be fucking cheap about it...
playoffs next year, plus the bottom of the Lottery draft pick
and does anyone else here think Sean Singletary is a Lottery pick other than me?
Go Bobcats 2/2/2007 12:49:23 PM |
packboozie All American 17452 Posts user info edit post |
Would we want Singletary and Felton in the same backcourt?
Bigger guards would have a field day with us. We need to find out if Felton can handle the point full time or not. And trade BK now if teams want him. 2/2/2007 12:57:15 PM |
hunterb2003 All American 14423 Posts user info edit post |
no i wasnt saying we should draft him
but he will probably be there at the end of the Lottery and thats where our pick should be
and i think from now on the bobcats should draft best available, not on a need basis 2/2/2007 1:14:37 PM |

With Felton our long term PG, we need the other starting guard to be at least 6 foot 5 to cover the plethora of 6'6" and 6'7" wings in the league
A thing alot of people are forgetting is we get Toronto's pick this year as long as they make the playoffs and don't have the worst record of all the teams to do so (top 15 protected)
So a pick somewhere in the 16-20 range could net us a player like Aaron Afflalo, Alondo Tucker, Corey Brewer or Deqaun Cook. Big men will go earlier so there will be lots of good wing players in the middle of the first round.
Of our current roster, assuming we keep them, only Felton, Wallace and Okafor are sure-fire starters no matter who else we bring in. So we could conceivably get 2 starters out of this draft if Jordan and Bickerstaff are smart and lucky. 2/2/2007 3:15:35 PM |
Maverick1024 All American 4866 Posts user info edit post |
If Carroll keeps playing like he's been the past couple of months, it's hard to keep him out of the starting lineup. His shooting offsets Wallace and Felton's penetration perfectly.
With Felton, Carroll, Wallace, and Okafor, I think they're a jump-shooting PF (Durant please God) away from being a damn good team. 2/2/2007 5:21:15 PM |
