ok, i don't have a damn clue about some transformers, but i had one when i was a kid.

looked like a tractor trailer. it was a cabover truck that turned into one of the robot things and the trailer that went with it opened up into command center or something.

was this worth a fuck?

Sounds like you're talking about Optimus Prime

Depending on the condition a vintage one loose is anywhere from $30 or so on up to about $100, assuming all accessories are there.

Of course, now that I look at your age, its more likely you had Generation 2 Optimus Prime, which is basically the same toy with an updated trailer style:

that's exactly what i had. i was missing the six wheeled car that goes in the trailer. i think my mom sold it at a yard sale or something. oh well, i never played with it and thought it was pretty lame. it probably came from a yard sale to begin with.

I checked two targets today (brier creek and lynn rd.) using the DCPI, and they did not yet have them. Cary TRU sucks as usual and doesn't have them. Haven't caught em at a walmart yet.

Though apparently they've been showing up around the Triad, so they should be around very soon.

I think there is a 25th Anniversary Optimus Prime coming out this year?

I want that in a very bad nostalgic way.

Speaking of, Target has a sale on the Leader-class movie toys. I can't find premium Prime, though. If y'all see one at Target, please let me know?

I also have yet to see the new Classics anywhere. Super Wally World on New Bern has an endcap full of Voyager (I think? Grimlock is one of them.) Animated figures, though.

Universe deluxes (Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Tankor aka Hasbro couldn't copyright Octane anymore) are in ample supply at Cary TRU. GOGOGOGOGOGO

Thanks for the heads up, ScottyP. I ran down to TRU and got Sunstreaker, Tankor, and Prowl. I wish they had Onslaught too but didn't. I went by Crossroads Target and all they got was movie and animated.

Oh man...I'll go by TRU tomorrow.

Axelay, thanks for the heads up on the New Bern Wally...I grabbed the last Grimmy on the shelf so I'm done with Animated until the next wave of deluxes.

Tankor is pretty 'meh', Sunstreaker and Prowl are amazing Transformers and I <3 them.

Animated Leader Class Megs is actually extremely badass. High recommend.

Whats up with those "activators"? They look like neat little desk warmers, but 9 freaking dollars for something smaller than a basic

My pleasure. I just haven't gotten into the Animated stuff at all. Ultra Magnus is the only one which interests me.

Went out to Brier Creek for dinner tonight. No Premium Prime at Target. Apparently, I also just missed a Wii by about 30 minutes. Damn it.

Gonna head to TRU tomorrow. Must find Prowl.

By the way, if any of y'all should happen to spot new GI Joes, please let me know. I'm looking for wave 9 as well as the vehicles.

Megs is cool, but he's a little sparse or something for me and I can't quite put my finger on what it is that makes me not really care. Maybe it's the alt. mode...I've never really been big on the straight-wing planes/copters.

I got Prowl and Sunstreaker on the way to work but haven't popped them open yet...if you want them, I'd suggest you go now. I'm sure they have more in the back, but there were only two of each left once I grabbed mine.

so, i'm not a fan of sunstreaker

the hood part doesn't lock down in robot mode and the roof/windshield is crooked (off by a few gear teeth assumably)

maybe i'll crack him open and fix the gearing, he might be pretty nifty then

haven't opened the other two yet

sunstreaker's hood does pin down in robot mode

but you have to re-slide the section up to the pin and those slide joints are really tight

it took me a few tries...use where the grille slides up and boxes around the waist as a guide

Finally opened Prowl and Sunstreaker today. Honestly, Prowl seems kinda flimsy to me. He certainly looks good, but he definitely needs more decals. Might just have to get the Reprolabels set for this one. My Sunstreaker is as sturdy as a brick, though. It is almost excessively tight. I'm a little bit worried that I'm going to break it when I transform it. I don't like the kneecaps, but everything else is pretty nice. What worries me is that Hasbro isn't going to do anything other than repaint it and call it Sideswipe. No, no, no.

Good! Wonder if anything else will be different?

Spotted a Leader Premium Prime on clearance tonight but didn't get it. Still on the fence about it. Go for it or no? I don't have any movie Primes at all.

(anyone else notice the mistransformed shoulder, lol)

Also, Universe Robot Heroes and Legends class are at Cary TRU (though legends class wave 2 is WAAY cooler, just not out yet), and they also have the exclusive Mudflap and Inferno.

I especially like these new classics because they seem extremely inspired by the IDW comics, which I've been reading since the beginning and are, so far, baller as fuck. Hopefully Furman doesn't go off the deep end though, which tends to happen and looks like it could soon... oh well, at least Grimlock is back.

Also, just noticed this messing with these two new voyagers... sometimes it takes me way too long to put 2 and 2 together...

Inferno and Grapple, I presume? Where'd you find those pics? What's up with the mini crane on Inferno's... whatever that thing is?

I did break down and get Premium Prime for $17. Turns out I like it a lot more than I originally thought. Interesting transformation - I really hadn't considered that it'd work the way it does. Even more so, I think the sword looks a lot better than the gun.

Its a minicon. Think Micromasters from way back, except they attach to Armada/Energon era TFs in various ways, some of them turn into weapons like Targetmasters, others just vehicles, and yet others combine into larger weapons. In the armada TV series (the second half is actually good. No, really.) these are used to "power up" the characters, usually resulting in some super ridiculous energy boost and/or special attack.

Then it turns out at the end they were all just spawns of Unicron that had betrayed their former master.

^^^ The Target near me has a ton of toys on clearance. I think they're ramping up for all the new Star Wars and GI Joe things coming out soon.

^^ So these aren't actually new mold Classics, but are instead repaints of Armada TF's? I'm not sure I completely understand.

I only just realized last night that Sunstreaker's engine and exhaust could be combined into one weapon. Duh. Bring on Sideswipe now!

^^ oh god please to still be there in... 10 minutes XD

Yeah, Inferno and Mudflap are repaints. Inferno is a repaint of Armada Red Alert. He is meant to be a homage to the G1 Inferno, which except he's a fire rescue vehicle instead of a fire engine.

Mudflap is meant to be a homage to G1 Grapple, which I didn't understand at first. This figure is a repaint of Mudflap from the Cybertron line.

Anyhow, off to get Blaster, I hope.
