I must say, I am enjoying the differences from the book that Alan Ball and the writers are creating. However, last night's ep made me start thinking that there are too many plots to focus on and lead me to forget things as clips go back and forth. Guess I'll just have to rewatch!

been watching this show since the start, and that episode was a great one. love the plot developments, nice twists, nice flashbacks etc

i was a HUGE fan of heros (season 1 only), but if you just look at plot development this show has it beat easily

My current theory is that Godric was never really imprisoned. He basically allowed them to "capture" him in order to gather information and expose the FOS church as a bunch of crazy radicals. Like Eric and that other chick said, it doesn't really seem possible that those loonies could have really caught a vampire as powerful as Godric. Nothing we've seen of them has convinced me they could pull something like that off. Look at their lame attempt to capture Sookie for example, that had about a 0% chance of success.

^Unless one of them has supernatural powers. When Erik was talking with that other vampire woman outside he said something about how now human would be able to capture and hold Godric. Perhaps this is hinting that he was captured by someone or something with powers greater than his own.

sookie has said in the past that she can only read what the person is thinking at that moment if she's focused on them, UNLESS she touches them (which is how she figured out who was stealing from Eric in S1, and how Hugo's thoughts/memories of being a traitor came to her). so if steve newlin wasn't thinking about jason, she really doesn't have much of a choice in the matter of what she learns. she's also spent most of her life figuring out how to put up a block so she's not constantly hearing people's thoughts, and has just started using it to play detective sookie. that block may be a subconscious habit for her.

and come on, give the girl credit...she forgets to read their mind in a moment of duress, but then has the sense to call out to barry with her mind for a rescue? baller.

and as far as Godric goes, I think a 2000 year old vampire, as powerful as Godric is supposedly, can take out a measly door to freedom unless it was made of silver or was a triple bolted steel door or something. and there's no vampire rule about not being able to get out...once you're invited you can go and come as you please unless the invitation is rescinded.

and add to that how Godric was dressed...mmhmmm...very peculiar indeed.

Maenads get off on other supernaturals giving them offerings, lust, rage, violence, etc....

Vamps are physically stronger, but a Maenad has magic that can control them. Notice how Erics blood couldn't cure Sookie. In other books, Vamps dont mess with Maenads. If you notice, Darlene offers her services, the cook shifter... offered money. They are also known for keeping a pig around.

i could see this whole thing being a setup by godric to launch a campaign against the FoTS. IE they kidnapped a very old and respected vampire and murdered/attempted to murder him in front of a large crowd. if he was an emo vampire he could let them kill him (godric seems to awesome to be emo though), but if he actually wanted to live maybe he planned for some of his vampire friends to save him at the last minute from the FoTS. the whole thing would be recorded and posted on the internets and the world would turn against the FoTS.
