Kinda wanna have a home game vs someone else tho

Just to change it up

But there's no denying a game vs Dallas would have a bigger 'big game feel' to it than a game vs Arizona, Minnesota, Atlanta, etc

Um, even if Carolina shits the bed and finishes 10-6, they still make the playoffs.

What, you guys have played twice in the playoffs??? And one was back in like '95. Cmon people. They won 5 out of 6 against you, and some of those came with Bledsoe, hahaha. Not even trying to be a dick, but they have your number like no one else does, except Garcia.
So I decided to not be lazy today and look at the tiebreak for the WC spots and see who is most likely to get it because a guy said earlier that he think Panthers still get in with 10-6, so lets take a look.

1st thing, lets name all the teams who could potentially end 10-6: Bucs, Panthers, Saints, Falcons, Cowboys, Vikings or Bears, Skins, Eagles (actually would be 10-5-1). I thinkk 9-7 is out for sure. For arguments sake, I think its safe to throw out Eagles and Saints, due to tough scheduling.
So the tiebreak in a conference basically comes down to conference record. As of right now, TB: 8-2, @Car, ATL; Car: 6-3, TB, @NYG, @NO; ATL: 5-3, @NO, TB, @Min, StL; Min: 5-3, @Det, @ari, AtL, NYG; Dal: 6-4, NYG, @Phi; Wash: 6-4, Phi, @SF; Chi: 5-5, NO, GB. Heres how I personally prject them with the overall record 1st, and then conference record 2nd.
#2 seed: Bucs, 12-4, 10-2. #4 seed: Bears, 10-6, 7-5. #5 seed: Cowboys, 11-5, 7-5. #6 seed: Falcons, 11-5, 6-6. #7: Skins, 10-6, 8-4. #8: Panthers, 10-6, 7-5.
So looking at this a little clearer, the Panthers need to win 2 of their next 4 to make it into playoffs. And Ill go ahead and tell you this to while Im looking at it, the Skins game this weekend is huge for the Panthers. You need them to lose (I have them losing) because if they dont, they you all could go 11-5 and still not get in. Id keep a close eye on that one.

It's funny that you claim to pay so much attention to facts but can't even make a statement like this without being wrong. The Panthers have never beaten the Broncos*, Texans or Dolphins if you want "someone who has our number." The Cowboys, in comparison, aren't even close (we're 3-7 against them overall).

This thread has made monday night take even more forever to get here

Basically there's no middle ground (except if the game tied)...if panthers lose, likely out
If they win, more than likely in

Side note: does anyone else have a gut feeling about the giants game as being one of those 'wtf' wins? I don't know why I feel that way, but I just haven't been that worried about that game for some reason

Kinda yeah

I'm guessing it will be a primetime game

I see us splitting the TB and Giants games

If we win Monday, we lose vs NYG

but if we lose Monday, we shock the world in 2 weeks

Thats just how the Panthers roll

yeah

only because we'll probably blow a game between now and then

inciting the Panthers to action... plus by then, the Giants may sit some people or otherwise be rather lackadaisical about playing us

We are going to be in position week17 to win to get into the playoffs, but like we always do, we'll probly lose to the Saints in the last game of the season to prevent getting in

Maybe not always but I think that's happened twice (loss to saints to end the year)

One of the ATL losses was to the panthers, so he refuses to acknowledge it, but he just forgot to deny it in the conference record

See this is what I mean, you guys are more worried about a typo I made than talking football. Wtf, you guys are pathetic. And I agree with Jordan from NJ, girls shouldnt be allowed. She says Texans Dolphins, and Broncos the Panthers have never beaten, but this is a totally absurd statement given that Panthers have been around only something like 13 years or something and that all 3 of those teams are AFC (meaning they probably have only played 3 or 4 times) and especially the Texans being introduced in 2002 (meaning Panthers have not played them more than twice). THat is such a stupid point. I believe she knows her Panthers, but she doesnt know the league. The Panthers, have played Dallas, almost every season since their existence and only win 30% of the time and only 1 of the last 6. Im done with this argument because it is unbelievably clear. Im putting it to rest.
Now to correct my Falcons mistake, I have them finishing with a overall record of 11-5, and conf record of 8-4. THis is actually better than I 1st thought, this is even more evidence for my case of Panthers not making it in.

I focus on a typo that completely discredits your seedings because if the Falcons were to finish 6-6 in conference they would have been behind the Panthers based on the tie factor, now that you have changed what you "meant" it is completely different.

You not knowing what number of games above .500 means discredits you from talking about anyone not knowing the league or sports in general.

5. Cowboys
6. Falcons

This is dumb. You guys lose to NYG even if the apocalypse happens. There is no getting around this. ANd they wont take it easy on you by resting up, they already have a bye week plus they didnt rest up last year when they could of and look where it got them. I expect them to play up until the final whistle on week 17.

I wonder where all you guys will be if Panthers lose Monday night. I could see this thread being a quiet place, due to all the fairweather fans in here.

no surprise you disagree

you completely ignore the 90% trend of teams starting 7-2 making the playoffs

why not follow it up by ignoring the 100% trend of the panthers beating the cowboys in the playoffs

seriously, saying things like this doesn't invalidate any of my points

sure I know we've only played the Texans, Dolphins and Broncos individually no more than three times

that doesn't mean they haven't all beaten us 100% of the time we've played them

I wasn't trying to say that if we played them now, it's a guarantee that we'd lose, I'm just saying that the Cowboys "having our number" is a ridiculous comment. If you want a team who's played us about as much as the Cowboys and does have our number, it's the Redskins.
