Cool! That means it is less than 50 days till I might have a real job. The only job I have found right now that is maybe going to hire me will start on June 1st at 9:00 am M-F. No vacation time can be taken during the first 12 weeks of training. IF they don't hire me then I will have to watch the World Cup!

I'm not going to look through the whole thread, but has anybody proposed a World Cup fantasy league yet? we did it in 2006 and it ruled

The video game released today. I got it at Best Buy this morning. It's a great game with all 199 teams that participated in WC Qualifying. FYI the US kits in the game are the two from last year and the new home/away for the WC.

I got it for PS3, so it was $59.99 and it is made by EA Sports. The step from FIFA 09 to WC is a lot higher than FIFA 10 to WC. It allows you to take your created player from FIFA 10 and import them into the country for WC to "Captain your Country." They've added lots of things to presentation. Scoreboard & pregame lineups are both in the FIFA format. Lots of little things have added up to make it a very enjoyable game. There is also an online FIFA World Cup tourney.

Dicks in Cary actually has a good selection of world cup jerseys right now. Official ones, not knock offs.

That's a shame I have to get stuck with old white jerseys. I hope they release an update when we reveal them.

This is a pick of the "leaked" home jersey for the world cup.

It along with the new road jersey for the WC and the home & away jerseys from last year are in the WC video game.

I hate that "USA" block on the back and those red things on the sleeves (and yes, I know it's like that for all the other Nike teams)

I'm really not excited about this jersey but I might get one anyways, I change my mind all the time

Our "road" WC jersey is blue. It's the jersey the US team wore vs the Netherlands. Our "home" WC jersey is up on http://ussoccerstore.com/. Both of these jerseys are in the game along with the home and away jerseys from last year.

I like the improvements in the game over FIFA 10. The ball seems a lot less "scripted", if you know what I mean.

"On the back of the Shirt's neck is a graphic that reads 'USA', while inside the neck is a graphic of a coiled rattlesnake. Inside the Shirt, on the back of the US Football Federation's crest, and symbolically above the heart, is another crest. Designed by a US artist, the crest features the same coiled rattlesnake lurking in the bushes, accompanied by the defiant and inspiring message 'DTOM', which stands for 'Don't Tread On Me ', a historic phrase that has been used for more than two centuries as a patriotic rallying call. Elite club colors means he's not afraid to scream his battle cry, "Don't tread on me.""

argentina are weak at the back. and weak at the managerial position. if they make the final, it will be because they employ the score 1 more than you tactic. the keepers maradona has been using lately dont have a lot of experience at all...

^^ it could be worse in the back, they still have some decent guys back there - Demichelis, Heinze, Samuel, Zanetti, Insua - it's not like they have to deal with Pearce and Corrales

agree about the keeper and and manager though... who knows what to expect from them?

im curious to see how zanetti will do after a full season at his age...and heinze isnt quite what he used to be...lol that you named insua, i know youve watched him play. hes awful

demichelis and walter samuel should do alright with each other. but they are liable to have a keeper starting with 10 caps or less

maybe I'm biased, I wouldn't call Insua "awful," he's just small and he's definitely improving. He's not world class or anything but I'd take him over somebody like Neville (who has a serious shot at making a WC roster) or anybody at RB for the US

i thought insua was a left back....

which is half of why i laughed cause he has no shot over heinze.

and i would take neville over insua any day for a backup. id rather have the experience than the potential in a world cup.

Inside the neck? SHIT I'M GONNA BE WEARIN DIS SHIRT INSIDE OUT.

I actually like the dot matrix numbers, but it does look weird contrasted with the solid sash. Maybe if the sash was dot matrix too it might look bad ass. Or terrible. I'm having a hard time picturing it.

Overall score: 65

Away: 70
Home: 60

Scoring system: Arbitrary

Not the worst kit I've seen, but definitely not the best.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like the Republic of Korea's jersey with the tiger print:

Reminds me of Poland's 2006 World Cup jersey, which is one of my all time favorites.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Dutch Away jersey is simple but pretty sweet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Hondurans almost had a good kit going, but Joma decided to put their logo smack over the Honduran FA's logo and added some ugly ab accents. Lower the blue faded banner, slap the HFA's logo in the middle of it, put the Joma logo off to the side, and get rid of those skewed equalizer bars and you have a good shirt.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Like I said before, I like the background patterns, like those on South Korea's new kit and Poland's 2006 kit, but what the fuck is this? Shame on you Italy. You usually have some of the best jerseys. Not this year.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I like the main design of the shirt, but what the fuck is going on up by the upper chest? Get rid of the cut off. I like the cut of Nike's kits better than Adidas, and this shirt displays why.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think New Zealand's Away shirt would have been the best of the cup if they would have implemented one of those background fades of their leaf logo like South Korea's tiger print and Italy's whatever the fuck that is.

Getting too excited leading up to this...I had a dream about the world cup last night.

Basically it involved watching USA vs England at a bar with a bunch of friends. We were down 3-1 at half and ended up winning 7-6. Crazy game
