It doesn't make ME feel any better. I will meet girls more attractive, possibly meet those exact girls, kill my own alligator, or even bang a girl on an alligator before NC State is relevant in men's basketball again. 1/4/2010 7:25:58 PM |

CofC better get us off sportscenter.
These people who think horner is a top player for simply don't watch the games, period. He pads his stats against cupcakes -- and that fools people into thinking he is useful. In games against major conference teams, he is a huge rebounding and offensive liability. He is a terrible FT shooter in crunch time. I wish his level of play was just as good against major competition, but it's just not happening. His negative plays don't make up for his positive ones.
We don't need a 6-9 guy who stands on the perimeter, pump fakes, and flops all the fucking time. We need a 6-9 guy who rebounds on the weakside and gets putbacks. These are high percentage plays that we miss out on when horner is in the game.
Any time we devote effort to running anything through him incurs the huge opportunity cost of not running something through smith, javi, and wood.
Horner HAD potential. Now that he is halfway through his senior year without becoming anything more than an ACC bench player (if that?), we can close the book on him. If he hasn't improved by now, he's not going to. Having a senior who can't play is like missing on a 4 star recruit, and it's one of the reasons we aren't as successful as we need to be. 1/4/2010 11:42:51 PM |

Even when its not our fault, it our fault. We find some way to lose. Shit never fails, typical NC State Shit. 1/5/2010 12:55:23 AM |

^^Agreed with every bit of that.
Get Howell and Vandenburg more time....they have promise. More than I thought especially with Jordan. 1/5/2010 2:22:54 AM |

Agreed,
HORNER SUCKS
howell needs every minute of this time. Word is he has just as good of a shot as Horner, according to CJ's parents. 1/5/2010 2:33:01 AM |

Big Dandy Vandy definitely needs more time on the court, if for nothing else than the height on defense.
A good lineup would be:
Javi Wood Smith Howell Vandenberg
Yea, it's slow, but we can still run. Just a quick outlet pass to Javi, and let him put on an AND1 dribbling exhibition until the other players get down to the other end of the court. 1/5/2010 12:32:21 PM |

Yes, Tracy would make an excellent wing player. Or maybe Tracy at the 4 and Howell at the 3? 1/5/2010 12:49:15 PM |

State Oz's lineup would be ok if we moved Horner back to the 3....where he belongs anyway. We've tried to make him into a big man when he really isn't.
Javi CJ/Wood Horner/Wood Smith Vandy/Howell
That could work and give Horner more time out on the perimeter when he can knock down 3s.
[Edited on January 5, 2010 at 3:11 PM. Reason : V He's not strong enough for the 4 either....Smith would be way better at 4] 1/5/2010 2:59:30 PM |

Horner is too slow for the 3. Particularly on defense. 1/5/2010 3:02:33 PM |

Horner is going to play this year because he's been here before(and sucked) and he's a senior who actually worked hard and stuck around. His lack of athleticism and speed makes him a huge match up liability for us. Once we get into ACC play and he's trying to match up to real big men his stats will become crushed. That's why we need Howell to step up, or Big Daddy Vandy(doubtful).
