Did they say United has missed penalties in three straight games? So that's four in a row with a PK? I didn't see the others but that's pretty odd, no?

well yeah, United was struggling to take advantage of having one more player so of course a pen or any other major decision was coming their way. Webb would've sent Johnson off too.9/23/2012 12:00:05 PM |

If Arsenal can grab a point (or hopefully 3) against Chelsea next week they'd come out of the opening stretch really well against a very difficult schedule.
Tottenham looked good second half but wow has their schedule been soft to open the season. Should be sitting at more than 8 points with that opening slate. Gonna be tough for them to get near Top Four IMO...

i'm not saying it was a great decision, but from the ref's angle and the way johnson ran in there full speed, putting the arm on valencia's lower back, and everybody falling over it was always going to be a penalty.
btw, can we start a petition to get eric wynalda the fuck off television? the dude is a hack. thinks everything is a dive and nothing short of a rugby tackle is a foul.

most of 50/50 decisions ARE dives now. You said it yourself, those decisions are "always going to be penalties" because refereeing is shitty and players can fall over and get calls (except Suarez because he's a racist)
Wynalda is only tolerable person on that FSC coverage
he was right about Shelvey's red card too. It's a dumb challenge but it's not as if Evans wasn't going in with both feet too. Making that red card decision in a game that had very few bad challenges up to that point wasn't very good refereeing, and then the inconsistency when you let RVP walk with his horseshit later in the game was absolutely terrible.

no, what you did was take what i said about one instance and try to turn it into a blanket statement about all refs giving bad penalties in all kinds of situations.

if losing this game means that SAF finally learns that a midfield of Scholes/Carrick is fucking dumb then i won't feel so bad.
seriously, what is he thinking? Scholes has no legs and Carrick has hardly any mobility. Cleverley scores midweek and has been looking good for England but he can't start? Anderson has looked good too; he's not fit enough to play 90, but that's where Scholes could come in. 9/29/2012 12:45:52 PM |
