I am all for giving Doeren a chance, but come on... You at least have to beat one team that is actually somewhat competitive... You know, like an ACC team. Not the supposed cupcakes we beat.

Just got back from the game. That was a fucking terrible display of football by both teams. Congrats Carolina you won the who is the 2nd worst team in the ACC bowl. Until we have a QB that is even serviceable we are going to be terrible. After that pick near the end I yelled put in Thomas mostly in jest but I guess the coaches agreed. The refs were mostly terrible as well but not nearly as bad as our dumpster fire of a team. I don't think we win another game this year personally.

1. Terrible offensive play calling. We started taking shots when state would run the ball up the middle.
2. Mitchell is overrated or he's just bad. Either way the QB position, over halfway through the season is still 'open' is technically unbelievable.
3. They let Ebron catch passes.
4. We get everything we deserve today because we ripped off ECU's midfield logo.

We were out-coached, just like we were against Wake Forest.

4th and 2 in the red zone?... No, cant risk it. Lets go for a field goal, twice.
Punting from your own 30?... Yeah, lets roll the dice on a fake punt.

How the hell are they calculating risk vs reward?

Our play calling on offense was completely without logic. It was like they reached into a hat and pulled out a piece of paper with a play on it. If you are that stupid, just let the quarterback call the plays.

UNC made better coaching adjustments. We get a LB ejected from the game: They throw short passes over the top and test out the new guy before he can get his head in the game. We lose a DT to a leg injury: They run the ball right at that spot, twice in a row, for first downs. We put Pete Thomas in the game and they say 'hey look, state is getting desperate and needs to pass, so they drop LB's back into coverage and start breaking up passes and nearly generating numerous INT's. They responded to changes in the game with logical reactions designed to maximize their talent.

Somehow, our defensive schemes were even worse than our offense. Carolina had two effective weapons: Ebron and Logan, and only Ebron was really dangerous. Renner didn't even play that well. Is our DC retarded? Did they forget to prepare for the game? Did they not have any tapes to watch? Is there something I can do to help?

I can't believe I am saying this in November, but where oh where is Mike Archer?
Do they really think they can recruit their way out of stupidity? How many commits are going to ask for a release when they see our record come January?

This is absurd. I want to support Doeren and his group, but I am starting to wonder if these guys know what they are doing.

there is a thing going around ABC 11: UNC's football team beat NC State in Raleigh this afternoon and promptly celebrated by chanting "Our State, Our State" at center field over the State logo. Do you feel the postgame celebration was appropriate or was it an example of poor sportsmanship?

I hate Carolina, but if you are the one that brings up the "Our State" thing and a other team in the State (and your main rival) beats you, at home, then you deserve to eat some crow and you cant really complain.

I think I heard a presser of Coach D saying that he "warned" Brandon Mitchell to stop forcing the ball into double coverage, and he wouldn't and kept doing it so THAT is why he benched him and put in Pete Thomas.

When the rule was announced DD said the exact same thing about how bad a rule it is and how the ejections would affect the game. Not just a "it didn't help us so I hate it" reaction.

I totally agreed with the decision to pull Mitchell. There were two plays specifically that showed how incompetent he is as a QB.

#1) He threw a pass into a defenders outstretched hands and had it batted down. The replay clearly showed that the defenders hands were up before Mitchell threw the ball.

#2) The last pick he threw before he got benched. Mitchell had all day to throw the ball. He waited till defenders were all over him and then just lobbed it out into the middle of the field. I fucking screamed at the TV. Watching him on that play infuriated me to no end. I had flash backs of Harrison Beck, that worthless piece of shit.

I've seen enough of Mitchell. Hes big and athletic and boy did he look good running over defenders the first two scores in the Unc game. But I don't think he has the brains to be QB. Perhaps use him like Shrieffs occasionally in wildcat formations or play action but don't let him make any decisions.

Also, DD has been a big disappointment this year. I didn't expect much this year so a losing record would not have been to big of a disappointment. This is one of the weakest schedules we have played in a while. We have demonstrated that we cannot execute a trick play so fucking stop calling them already.

Say what you will about TOB but his teams improved throughout the season. His only flaw in my book was not recruiting well enough. The players he did recruit for the most part improved. Also he beat knew how to beat Carolina.
