Why would Miami be an automatic in if they won this game?

They've lost 4 out of the last 7 games, including losses to Wake and Georgia Tech (20pt loss), it's not like they are on some streak.

I would think they are on the same road as we are pretty much, they need to close out the season or make an ACC Tourney run.

The other good side to Miami losing and not being an "in" team (which we apparently are right now) is now Louisville and UNC are tied in the ACC Standings instead of UNC going on top.

Thing is though, Louisville still has to play ND and VA..

It really looks way worse when you watch the replay than how it actually happened with the flow of the game. The possession before that he did the same thing off one of the Miami players backs I think and I believe he just didn't look where he was throwing the ball.

You can see as he walked away that I don't think he even knew he hit him with the ball in the face. If you hit someone in the face with the ball that hard and knew it, you would at least walk up to them and ask them if they were ok.

The call on the court was fair, but honestly I wouldn't have thought it was strange at all if they just played on. Shit happens.

^^ I just pulled up the replay. It's funny as shit to watch. The refs just sat there and didn't even immediately blow the whistle, even though if you ignore the shot to the face, there still should have been an immediate whistle because the dude was out of bounds. lol. Guess it stunned the shit out of them. There was no reason to throw the ball off the guy in the first place, though. The whole thing is bizarre. Hell, he may have even been in a position to go up with it and score. To top it off, he had just gotten through moaning to the refs about a non-existent foul.

It seemed dirty, but weird shit happens in college sports all the time so have to rewatch. With as good of a BB player Harrell is I would assume he knows how to not hit a guy point blank in the face like that.
