I feel like I should be happy to make the sweet 16 with this team because that feels like over achieving for this season, but at the same time it feels like such a waste of a chance with the big win and a favorable draw. A final four would have helped recruiting a whole lot this won't really affect it nearly as much. Just seems kinda like a waste but ill try to be happy with the season overall.

Our strategy at the end of the year became to sit back on defense and let teams jack 3s and miss them. Louisville can't shoot so it didn't work against them.

Turner lost us this game on defense.

I will say it over and over again. I bet if we go back and look at who scored the points and who was guarding that person that Turner's assignments had 35 or more.

He was HORRIBLE on defense and barely did anything on offense.

Cat doesn't do well on offense against a zone or match-up zone.

I can most logically blame this on Turner's terrible defense. Albeit, the bigs didn't do well but...still.

Just got back from the bar. Harrell beasted, Rozier didn't shoot great but out hustled everyone, and the dude that didn't play until Blackshear had 4 fouls and then scored 7 points was just too much to overcome.

Turner was god awful defensively tonight. Lost his man repeatedly, afraid to take charges, couldn't stay in front of his man on the ball. He plays so much smaller than he actually is

Car got his lunch handed to him by Rozier tonight. Our bigs were bad on defense and Washington was the only good one on offense, but Gott didn't let him play. I usually notice how bad Turner's d is but didn't see it tonight. Glad he hit some threes in his last game.

Next year should be interesting. Terry Henderson may not shoot as well as Turner, but his overall game HAS to be better. Everyone else should improve as well.

It was just a disappointing loss. I know if you told me in the preseason that this team would make the Sweet 16 I would be ecstatic. But this was a huge opportunity they let slip away. They had a favorable draw and had a legit chance to make the Final Four. Turner's defense was a big reason why we lost, but I can't believe how our big guys didn't come to play. I wouldn't even say Washington looked good offensively, but he was making shots which was something none of the other bigs were doing.

^^thats what I didnt understand. He did exactly what we needed. That zone was killing us. His ability to score quick and efficiently from his position was huge in opening the offense up and giving us a big boost before halftime. That's just kinda how he plays. His shots arent always pretty. But he makes a lot of them.

Wait, now that I think about it...the team that played tonight played awful. WTF was Gottfried doing down the stretch not having Washington getting lots of play time. Even Abu!

This team that played the majority of the minutes tonight sucked it up. Lacey was the only real highlight.

They played terrible! They shot probably the worst % I've seen in a long time AND not only that but they were terrible random shots. No movement on offense. I felt myself screaming at them to move for most of the game!

Anya looked like he was lost...like someone had hit him in the head and he didn't know where he was. Freeman was as back and forth as anything and got a ton of minutes...why? what did he do well this game?

I hope Cat was sick, I really do because he played one of the worst games except for a 3-5 minute stretch there that I thought I've seen him play. I think when he got no called for that early turnover/no call on that bump that was about the effort he gave tonight. Thank God Lacey made it respectable but he could have went off SO much more...he basically just created and passed on his driving and relied on his outside shot only.

Washington played the best game of anyone for us tonight and got the least amount of playing time in crunch time. Dude must be so schizo and we not know it or Gottfried ruined that decision outright...it's one or the other bc dude showed up and tried to pump us up and put us on his back for a moment. Even Abu had his good moments, especially on the hustle plays. Putting in Martin was a good and bad call both...he tried more than he was able to handle yet...and that is a wash...you either have greatness already bc of sheer talent at that age or you cant quite get to that level yet in their freshmen year...and he played like the not as advertised player that he is.

Even Lee...he tried, damn that dude wanted it more than anyone on that team...but he tried.

and Turner, don't even get me started on him...he was the best player for Louisville tonight. I have never seen anyone pull a nba james harden defense as much as he did tonight. Wow.

They played SO unlike themselves tonight minus a few...Gottfried outcoached himself tonight, him and turner must be best of friends...bc he has the worst defense I've seen in awhile to be so athletic. They lost this collectively. Everyone knew they'd run matchup zone...and we looked like we had 12 hours to prepare for it.
