The new Jeb Can Fix It slogan backfired horribly on Twitter. Of course the question is did they think it would go any other way?

Obama says feel the burn:

"Have you noticed that everyone of these candidates say, 'Obama's weak. Putin's kicking sand in his face. When I talk to Putin, he's going to straighten out,'" Obama said, impersonating a refrain among Republican candidates that he's allowed Russian President Vladimir Putin too much leeway.

"Then it turns out they can't handle a bunch of CNBC moderators at the debate. Let me tell you, if you can't handle those guys, then I don't think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about you," Obama said.

wow, this #JebCanFixIt campaign has caused the Schiavo case to resurface. Don't know how anybody can think that he is fit for president after that.

^^that's kind of funny since they directly called out the moderators for who they were and what they were doing. and as a result the RNC is no longer doing business with them.

I never post in here but just wanted to come and say that I will lose all faith in humanity if Trump wins the GOP nom. How the hell has he even made it this far? I am still waiting on him to answer a question with some sort of a thoughtful response.

^^^^ I hope the media plays hardball... The debates have been the biggest boon to any of the candidates, they need the media more than the media needs the candidates.

That's battle between two generations.

Carson&Trump VS Rubio&Cruz

I think it will then be Carson VS Cruz next year.

Then Cruz wins.

If Cruz wins the nomination then Clinton has a free ride to the white house.

If cruz somehow wins the presidency then i'm joining the Cascadia Independence Succession movement or moving to Canada.

Why? Because many people live in a HuffPo bubble and actually believe Sen. Cruz is crazy and too conservative to be considered electable despite being super smart, handsome, and having actually been elected before.

Is this really what you people believe? That people only think someone like Cruz is crazy and conservative because that's what liberal publications say?

I said many, not all. And yes, I do think many Sen. Cruz detractors buy into the narrative pushed by many left leaning sites that he's crazy, not that smart, and not handsome enough to ever be elected. I think this based in part on many of the comments about Sen. Cruz from fellow TSB'ers.

Just listen to the guys rhetoric. I don't want to live in JesusLand. Maybe he and Texas can succeed from the Union and spare the rest of the nation from his social conservative agenda. Perhaps if we are really lucky he can take Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisana with him too. If the US feels cash-strapped we can sell Cruz's JesusLand the Florida pan-handle as well.

Cruz wants a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, and he has a religion-based view on climate change. He called for a return to the gold standard during the last debate. I don't know if he's an idiot, but as far as politicians go, there's no reason to believe he's at the top of the stack as far as intelligence is concerned.

There are quite a few ridiculous things about your posts on Cruz, but in no particular order here are the ones I feel like responding to:

Wouldn't your deeply held conservative beliefs tell you that anyone reading Huffpo isn't going to vote for a republican regardless of which one is nominated?

Most people decide on whether or not someone is good looking or not based on what they see, not what they're told to believe, regardless of how devoted to reading liberal media

If anyone thinks Cruz is crazy and stupid, it more likely has a lot to do with his hand in shutting down the government and the things he says almost every time he opens his mouth.

My original, serious point was that for someone to think Hillary has a "free ride" to the White House if Cruz if the R nominee they would seem to have bought into the idea that he's unelectable. Yes, people can come to this conclusion on their own based on his statements, although others could also come to this conclusion based solely on what other say about what he says. And yes, obviously most regular HuffPo readers wouldn't vote for Sen. Cruz regardless of what HuffPo chooses to print about him. But he's definitely not as handsome as Bradley Cooper despite what the left leaning media says.

Hillary doesn't have a free ride no matter what. I think it's anyone's game at this point. It's looking like it could be Carson though based on the polls, but there's a lot of time left.

"In a few months, after Iowa and New Hampshire begin to winnow the field, the GOP nomination race could boil down to an epic final between a candidate with a more pragmatic image, such as Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina or Jeb Bush, and a more conservative one, such as Ted Cruz, Ben Carson or Donald Trump.1

If that happens, the moderate finalist — like Mitt Romney and John McCain before him or her — will have a hidden structural advantage: the party’s delegate math and geography.

You should at least consider the possibility that the person inside a bubble is actually you.

Here's a list of some of Cruz's statements from Politifact (which, to be fair, I'm sure you consider part of the "liberal bubble"):

http://www.politifact.com/personalities/ted-cruz/statements/

A sample:

Ted Cruz

"Republican leadership took the lead confirming Loretta Lynch as attorney general."

(which is bullshit, they delayed the hell out of that)

"The Supreme Court’s views 'are radically out of step with public opinion' regarding its decision to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide."

(also bullshit--a majority of Americans support same sex marriage. A relevant (and very interesting, I think) xkcd: http://xkcd.com/1431/ )

Here's one that really pisses me off:

"There is no place for gays or atheists in my America. None. Our Constitution makes that clear."

(what part of the Constitution are you talking about, Ted? Are you even looking at the same Constitution I am?)

And, well, of course, "handsome" is in the eyes of the beholder, but I find his face rather repulsive, personally:

To me he looks like a smug Xmas elf to me.

My fault then, I didn't check the link to see that there's no evidence he actually said it. Sorry about that. I'll replace it with another one that pisses me off:

Back in Fall '13 there was talk in the GOP over whether they should attempt to shut the govt. down in order to defund Obamacare. Cruz was the primary instigator of that, I believe. Then he had the unmitigated audacity to blame the shutdown on the Democrats. Does Cruz think we're idiots? I mean, I'd been hearing the lead up play out in the media, about how some Republicans wanted to push for the shutdown, some thought it was a stupid move--Do you actually think I'm gonna forget that and buy your claim that it was the Democrats fault? You Republicans were publicly debating this move LAST FUCKING WEEK!

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/23/ted-cruz-blames-democrats-government-shutdown

Is that one better for you?

And one more: Millions of people agree with me that campaign contributions and super PACs have gotten out of hand. Ted defends this as free speech:

http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2014/07/a-shrill-voice-and-the-first-amendment-ted-cruz-108941

So in this situation, how much does someone have to pay in order for their free speech to even be heard? We are entering/in a period in American history where we no longer have representative government--Only those that can AFFORD representation will actually have representation. An oligarchy.

Fuck Ted Cruz and Fuck his supporters. Go ahead and try to burst the "bubble" you seem to think I'm in. I dare you. You just might find the bubble you are bursting is your own.

OMFG

Do we really want as president some idiot who thinks the ancient pyramids were REALLY used for grain storage? I suppose there is a big conspiracy among the historians and archaeologists to discredit the bible and Christianity by asserting the pyramids were used as tombs for Egyptian pharaohs.

This may be some ploy to pander to the Christian Creationist camp but either way all credibility in my mind is out the door.

more info here:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/11/05/ben-carson-believes-joseph-built-egypts-pyramids-to-store-grain-and-it-just-may-get-him-some-votes/

It's an odd belief of Carsons, but it seems based more on ignorance of the pyramids than a rejection of facts about the pyramids. And it's a conflation of the story of old testament joseph storing grain for a famine, and the pyramid belief is immaterial to the overall tale/belief he's espousing.

This fits with Carson's MO of being straightforward about his thoughts though, and I bet he'll just walk balk the "pyramids were for grain" when someone points out they weren't suitable for grain storage to him.
